I really dk new shards that will drain people and to get the dorm we have to buy 7 fucking avis that's maxing them all that's a lot of stress and money tbh
Simplex being in Campus rn to tell us how nice these new avis are is kind of wild considering the response you've gotten for them is wild.
These shards are honestly very nice. I wish you had put these in a story pass like the last ocean themed story pass. Then people could have bought the furni from Molly’s.
This is atrocious. From beginning to end and everything in between, including the original response from a dev and the revised oops my bad trying to pass off as an apology. It's like let's laugh in our playerbase's face while we count our cash. The execution of this itself is just eww. Every time it seems ATA has hit an all time new low with how cash grabby and greedy they can make something, they roll out something like this to prove the bar can in fact still go lower. These could be the best looking avis and furni this game has ever seen and it would still be a hard no for me. There is a such thing as a balance between pay walled content and free content to make everyone feel included and want to keep supporting this game, yet the free and casual spending players barely ever get anything to make them feel like they matter.
As someone who had been a p2p player on this game for almost 3.5 years, I couldn't even fathom the cost to get the amount of shards you need for all of these avis, because from screenshots I've seen, the drop rates are literally TERRIBLE🫠🫣 And with this set of shards being a first time release, there shouldn't even be a VIP+ yet. Y'all need to go back to the normal layout for avis, no more VIP+ at all tbh(EVEN FOR BRINGBACKS!) This honestly would've worked great separately as a set of shards & a furniture storypass. And the 110/110 special avi could've just been a reward for buying the avi sets instead. Players could've chosen the avis they wanted and/or buy the storypass for the furni if they wanted it. People have wanted a storypass for so long, & it has been long overdue. This is really unfortunate & disappointing because the avis are gorgeous. But you keep showing your player database that you are in desperate need of money and will do anything to grab players' money. This is just promoting the one thing you guys despise: the bento BM. With shard prices nowadays, some people cant afford them without buying BM bentos, so you're honestly making yourself lose more money in the end. This is extremely disgusting & unprofessional on so many levels and I dont understand how you could think that this is an appropriate response in any scenario, even a game. As someone who is a manager, the main part of my job is always customer service & support. I would've been put on an immediate suspension pending a review, or more likely: FIRED! This sounds like a narcissistic response to just get you more irritated & upset. I have not been actively playing this game for like a month or so now because my eyes have been opened. I literally only get on to talk to people. I used to buy shards, storypasses, bought lots of "deals" during special promos, & participate on leaderboards including: hunt LB, the spring xc, & the club xc a long while back). At this rate, idk if I could ever see myself coming back to play the game again... A lot of other players have left too, & more players keep leaving everyday. Y'all have moved so far away from how the game used to be. Bring back storypasses, stop pushing out so many lucky boxes & shard sets. Be original! ATA always says that they want to give the community what we want, but we voice ourselves about EVERYTHING and things just keep getting worse. Y'all give theme surveys for possible hunts, so how about you give surveys for possible shards or storypasses too? OR "Hire" people from the pimd community. Have them get hunt/sp/shard/etc ideas from others on the game (would help for those that are afraid/nervous to voice themselves in forums). Once the ideas are gathered, they can be shared with the ATA team. It would be a win-win scenario!!! People will enjoy the content more & give more constructive criticism instead of all this backlash. We just want to be heard, & have our ideas be brought to life😮💨

I'm glad you at least acknowledged this backfired, but I do think @iZelda deserves a more heartfelt apology. I'm sure there's some discussions now happening behind the scenes but I think all this fallout has been silently brewing for months (and in some cases years) and it made your reply come off as very dismissive. Especially when people have been articulating their criticism in forum posts on announcement threads for a long time. Your original response makes it really seem like the devs don't read announcement threads and are oblivious to the disappointment-slash-irritation-slash-anger. I'm sure that's not entirely the case, I'm sure you intended a light-hearted response, but the actual words I'm sorry do go a long way and @iZelda did a good job at explaining her thought process in her feedback and her passion for the game is evident. I'm glad to see adjustments have been made to the 'story pass' to make it more accessible to majority of the playerbase and I do hope this incident really hammers through how many of your longtime players have been feeling for quite some time. And I hope that it inspires adjustments being made to pending releases so that some post-release fixes don't need to be made after more negative feedback. At the end of the day, a lot of these passionate responses are from people that haven't quit yet because we love PIMD. I truly hope that is taken into consideration when formulating future responses.

Lmao. Nail, meet coffin. As a long-time PIMD player, I’m beyond frustrated with the latest release of the shard avi boxes and the new story pass system. We already have too many ongoing shard avi boxes, and adding yet another set just makes the grind worse. Collecting shards has become exhausting, especially when resellers drive up bento prices to ridiculous levels. The new story pass mechanic — requiring players to collect ALL premium avatars before activating the pass to then collect dorm furniture and then unlock the special avatar — is the worst setup I’ve seen yet. It’s incredibly expensive, heavily favors big spenders, and leaves free-to-play players with almost no chance to participate fully. To make matters worse, Marcelino’s response to iZelda expressing valid frustration with a passive-aggressive comment. The later “apology” — a quick “my bad” edit — was super unprofessional, dismissive and insincere. Given the outrage from the community, this kind of interaction from a developer is unacceptable. It has further damaged trust and shows a complete disconnect from the player base. This entire update reeks of a cash grab with no real consideration for player enjoyment, fairness, or accessibility. It’s hard to see where the developers’ priorities lie, but it’s clearly not with maintaining a respectful relationship with their community or supporting free-to-play players.
the dorm is so pretty but I'm not spending $100s of dollars to maybe collect enough shards to buy all 7 avis i don't even want (only like 1) just to get that dorm. thank you though i guess for new stuff that's not a recycled shard or dorm. i hope we get an affordable story pass soon 🥹🖤
