While I think the update is much needed to control the publings and thirsties, I do think having TOO many channels is too much… but also - my main question is how do certain groups and club communities now post for their own clubs? Let alone, are already owned and grandfathered-in “kinky” club names going to have to change their names and banners around now? I’m not bashing ATA just trying to help clarify for certain RP or kink clubs that ARE a part of the PIMD community…
The new chat update’s lowk overwhelming. I get the functions of each chatroom but then look at it now, trade related chats are posted everywhere atp. I think 4 public chatrooms are too much why don’t we just combine campus chat and orientation? +++ keep the student union ( but purely club announcements), and exchange strictly for trades.
I don’t think this is a terrible update but I am worried about the amount of channels. It will probably be harder to gain people for LBH or get trades because people are now having to scroll through multiple channels. Whenever everything was in campus, you had much more eyes on each “ad” that you posted. Hopefully you keep improving this idea as we learn this space together.
Oh… So you wanted to lose the majority of your players and not just make a few adjustments but like absolute extreme adjustments? Wild. Even making people change their IGN‘s? The game that makes sexually themed avatars is very clearly not for adults. Why would we think that? 💀

Overall seems a good update, but I'm concerned about two things: it's not really the sexual explicit requests in pub what bothers most of us, but rather those players who lie pretending to look for friendship and then trying to direct the chat into something sexual. I know we can block them or directly not accept any random requests (we already do that), but if we actually want to give people a chance or feel in socializing mood, the risk of unwanted sexual requests or even attempt of forced sexual rp will increase since now it's not allowed to publicly solicit it. I much prefer knowing what a person wants so I don't add them or reject them when they add me than now not being able to know before accepting or adding them. At least the public pervs were honest about what they wanted so we could avoid them. Now they'll be cryptic. And my other concern is what about clean chat in other languages??? Im scared to speak in Spanish, what if someone thinks I'm bypassing??
this is unfortunately a side effect of a broader push to remove adult content from internet and a wider trend of reactionary conservatism. This isn’t meant to be political but it’s the truth. Adults are being pushed out of spaces to “protect the children” when in reality, it’s all ways to degrade privacy protections. This isn’t a dig at the devs or mods, just pointing out WHY this hand is being forced upon them.
Can we have some kind of bubble on top or tap thing that lets us quickly access our desired channels? Instead of having to swipe through like 4 channels to reach club chat
I guess my first question is whether my ign is still acceptable. I understand the reason for the change, but I think it’s problematic. The game is called Party In My Dorm. At least when I was in college, there were people hooking up in public at just about any party. I’ll of course respect the changes, but from a veracity/ game development standpoint it feels like you are shutting down a major part of the college experience. Finally, as a trans woman I feel uncomfortable with men and even some cis women. Is “25+ lesbians HMU” now off-limits? It’s about safety, not sex. I’m glad to see you are trying new ideas, though, even if I don’t necessarily agree with them
I just feel like I should clarify, there’s always been more that’s needed to be done about the really bad stuff, but pub is where a lot of people gather and interact which has now been taken away. Most IGN’s that are inappropriate or for fun. Therefore entertainment. Taking away that freedom seems extreme. Especially for people who have had their IGN forever. And not being able to playfully mess around with your friends on their walls saying inappropriate stuff? Like isn’t that why the moderators exist? To be able to look until the difference between what’s actually genuinely harassment/extremely serious sexual stuff, public versus being playful with your friends and joking around? like no matter what this is a college themed game… It is a social game… So everyone on this game technically should be over 18 years old. Taking things to the extreme point that they are being taken with this and people already being silenced before anyone has a chance to even really see this and understand it is crazy. I feel like there are steps that could have been taken to appropriately fix the issues rather than going this extreme. I do like the trade channel though! That concept is nice and having one specifically for club promotions is also nice. But bring the pub back lol. I don’t even write in pub often but what’s not make the game extremely boring by not letting us be adults. This is not a high school themed game. I’m half asleep so this is probably rambling lol. My point is I appreciate you guys trying to do something to fix the genuinely bad shit on here… But this is too much
Or we could have the ability to rearrange the order of the channels while still retaining (which is working now the ability to turn on and off each channel with the exception of campus chat and club chat) 🤔🤔 It’s just a thought. I feel a bubble would either clutter or the size of it will be difficult to make it for every type of device models (like some have previously mentioned the issue on the size of the characters / bubble of parties bars name and whatnot) for IOS and / or Android
This is the change we need! I'm sure the devs will eventually figure out the lag from the many many amounts of channels (and a few other things ahem) but THIS is how one single-handedly get rid of weirdos. Freaking finally. Thank you
I get the changes and reasoning behind pub but all these channels is stressful... like someone else said, accidentally posting in one of these channels is so easy to happen and banners for flashes/bbbs/ sellers is gonna reach way less people now because theyre not gonna see them while yapping. I feel like less channels overall is helpful. Like "student union" and "orientation " channels are not needed and literally could still be in campus.
Ok not a bubble but they could easily insert that 3 like thing (idk what it's called) on the top right part of the screen where the chat name is. And it could open a small tab that lists the available chats. Same way they have one on top of the home page that provides quick links to forums, search and shop.
