My favorite thing about pimd is the friendships I have found throughout the years. I have people that I still talk to even after 10+ years. Also I love finding misc I don’t have to buy and collect in my showcase.
I heard essay!? I've been playing PIMD since 2012, and over the past decade, it’s become much more than just a game to me. In the beginning, like most people, I probably joined it for fun, to kill some time between work, school, or life’s chaos. But what I didn't expect was the deep sense of community, the friendships, and the life lessons I would walk away with. One of my favorite things about PIMD is how it managed to blend casual gaming with real-life lessons, in ways no one would expect from a virtual dorm experience. On the surface, it might look like a bunch of avatars interacting and competing in events. But the deeper you dive, the more you realize it’s almost like a little simulation of life itself. For starters, the friendships I’ve built in PIMD are unlike anything I ever anticipated from an app on my phone. Here I am, over a decade later, still in touch with people I met way back in those early years. These aren’t just surface-level connections either. These are friendships that have stood the test of time, where we’ve seen each other through life's ups and downs, shared real conversations about everything under the sun, and even helped each other grow in both game and life. It’s kind of mind-blowing to think that something as simple as a mobile game has forged such strong bonds that still exist today. But beyond relationships, PIMD has taught me countless lessons, some of which I’m almost embarrassed to admit because I learned them in a game rather than in a classroom! One of the biggest ones is economics and trading. As weird as it sounds, PIMD has given me a far better understanding of supply, demand, trading, and value than anything I learned in school. Learning how to manage in-game resources, figuring out when to trade items for maximum gain, and understanding how certain limited-edition things increase in value over time—honestly, it’s like a mini stock market! This economy aspect of PIMD also taught me patience and strategy. In real life, when you’re trading or managing money, there’s often an emotional component, where you might act impulsively. In the game, I’ve learned to step back, analyze situations, and time my moves for the best results. This discipline has spilled over into how I handle decisions in real life, especially when it comes to finances. Who would’ve thought, right? A game teaching me more about economics than years of sitting in a classroom, lmao! And then there’s the social aspect of the game. You’re constantly engaging with people, forming alliances, joining clubs, and participating in team-based events. Over the years, you pick up so much about leadership, communication, and conflict resolution. Every now and then, drama flares up, and you have to figure out how to keep peace within a club or negotiate deals between different members. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of human behavior, how people think, and how to handle conflicts—skills that are incredibly useful outside the game as well. Another thing that stands out about PIMD is how it serves as a time capsule for all those important moments. Every time I log in, I get this sense of nostalgia, remembering the early days of struggling to upgrade my dorm, the late-night club wars, and the inside jokes that have stuck around over the years. These memories are priceless. The game itself might have evolved, but the sense of belonging, the shared experiences, and the milestones remain constant. Looking back, it’s kind of crazy to think how much a simple dorm-themed game has shaped parts of my life. From teaching me practical skills to introducing me to lifelong friends, PIMD has been more than just a casual distraction. It’s been a space where I’ve learned, grown, and built relationships that mean the world to me. Here I am, over a decade later, still logging in, not just for the gameplay but for the memories and connections that continue to be made. It’s like a little virtual home that’s stuck with me through thick and thin, and I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. On top of all this, the mods of the game have been incredibly kind to me throughout the years, and one mod who stands out recently, in particular, is @Hales. Their generosity, understanding, and support have always meant a lot to me. In fact, it was @Hales who encouraged me to do this submission in the first place! They believed in me and pushed me to share my experiences with the game, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. But what really blows me away is @Hales level of kindness. Not only did they encourage me to submit this, but they also promised something pretty awesome if I actually won. @Hales felt bad that I never got to win one of those coveted green mod crates, so they went above and beyond, promising that if I win, they’ll be giving me 5 of their own green mod crates as a token of generosity! That kind of kindness really goes far and shows just how incredible people like @Hales can be, making the PIMD community all the more special. I was actually going to handwrite this submission as a more personal touch, but unfortunately, I messed up my shoulder, so I wasn’t able to go through with that plan. For that, I’m really sorry, @Hales! I wanted it to be special since you’ve been such a big supporter of mine. But even though I couldn't handwrite it, I still wanted to make sure I shared my story. I mean, the encouragement from @Hales was what pushed me to do this in the first place, and their generosity—promising to give me 5 of their green mod crates if I win—really shows how much they care about the players. That kind of kindness just makes me appreciate this community even more.
One thing that I like about this game is that I play with my irl girlfriend I have only been on here for about 8 months and since being here I love collecting cute stats and cute furniture 🫶🏻 especially when it anything with cats (that look like my cat) or dogs! I have met some lovely people on here and it is nice to keep growing and having people help you grow as well♥️
Just to set the record straight, I in fact did not make this "promise" LOL You're extra funny today, huh 😭
My fav part about the game is being a ec club admin. That is the one thing that keeps me active and makes me wanna come back after taking breaks. I love working with my fellow admins and yapping in cc with people from all around the world 🫂
