I left this game 2 ish years ago, came back for a couple months and now I'm leaving again for the same reasons. This game is so boring and no improvements seem to be ever made. I agree that they have to make money somehow but it doesn't matter in the end if your players aren't satisfied with the gameplay. You don't listen to feedback and players go inactive. I keep seeing the same requests/suggestions and complaints yet nothing happens?? repetitive hunts and parties, like I've tapped silly little buttons too many times for too long now. It still impresses me how long time players are still here, I can't keep opening these boxes and tap tap parties, it's driving me insane. Actually props to players because you're the only thing keeping this game alive, you're going to hell and back to make this entertaining while the devs sit and watch.. anyways, see ya in 2 years maybe if anything changed at all.
I actually read the comments for the sirens avatars and they are mixed (like and dislike) Also the players have been active on sharing ideas and agreeing to them on this following thread Hunt ideas What hunt ideas will not be repetitive for you? Some players have ask for dinosaurs/ samurai and gothic theme to come back (it already been done surprising these requests came out). New pros and new party (Dog Star) have been add but if you actually look to the āpro clubā they rarely do it over 12-14 hours only pro. Dog Star was also add recently. Already, many clubs are struggling to unlock or complete the current parties. Many players do leave the game for other reasons no solely for āthe lack of improvementā. I sincerely hope we can discuss and that I am not left on read. My intention is not to badmouth or disrespect your opinion. I only hope you can tell me these options were already considered and to you this isnāt enough...
She is referring to the gameplay cycle: What actions one performs to get the most out of the game/or to complete a hunt. Jumping clubs seems to be the most advanced technique. People sometimes get into a flurry when they do flashes, but sustaining that level of activity requires the investment of real money. Mercing can also be good but is more tiring than fun if you don't say hi at every port and get to know the people in the clubs. PvP can be fun but is broken and undervalued by the devs. One can build up huge defensive infrastructure and camp, without requiring them to actively defend. The gameplay of PIMD, for the most part, isn't stimulating. I needed forums, for many years, to keep me active because I liked debating and discussing things. That was also the appeal of trade. If you also don't actively make friends and use this as social media, the game doesn't have much to offer. It has plenty for many people but its raw gameplay is very repetitive. Have you ever heard the term "reskin"? That is what hunts are, of eachother. The stylistic differences are skin-deep and thus if you aren't interested in that, then they are repetitive. I actually find it amazing that people get excited for avatars and furniture and showcase items that look a certain way. The amount that such devices work and have continued to work, and keep certain players active shows how the game has changed and how it has started to rely on dressing-up. PIMD's community has rotated hard from actively being against it to celebrating that, and the game has adopted dress-up elements, vastly changing its character from a team-building exercise to a role-playing game. A few years ago, the devs tried introducing leaderboard club rewards wherein you would be rewarded as a club for doing well and being a part of that club would net you certain rewards. This seemed, in part, like an attempt to bridge that gap, but to reinforce the team-building exercise however it heavily rewarded clubs that did premium parties, and those clubs are run more like businesses than clubs. If you like a hunt, you sell a club a cat or dog for an additional reach at that hunt's rewards. Some clubs promote loyalty however when they require that investment, I see them as toxic to peoples' financial habits. It's a community that requires constant donations to constitute membership, and if you fall behind, you are kicked to the side: thus the community's undermining is constantly visible, and a sense of futility or superficiality is looming. The dormlympics hunt turned that on its head. Finding a good club, mercing, etc. was all done without the need for money. There was a bronze, silver, gold (t500?, t100, t10) leaderboard to shoot for every day encouraging high expenditures, but there were also rewards that could be earnt by completing different parties. Being in a good club would mean that if that club had a program to do every party, that if you were in phase with them, you would get every party done and have every pin (or almost). Thus loyalty was rewarded, and mercing was always a perfectly suitable option becausr you could check club buzz to see what club wad doing what party and go to the ones you needed. There was discovery and collaboration in forums in terms of hunting down different collectibles, and so on. That hunt was short and released a lot of items. An alternative would be to make a much longer hunt releasing lots of items that need discovery. The devs artificially introduce a sense of discovery by staggering the release of side stories (which quickly become exclusive to spending players). By rehauling the current system, the gameplay of hunts could reward players with items for both loyalty and mercing, simultaneously encouraging spending via a leaderboard, with longer hunts that people feel they can have some downtime from, encourage collaborative discussion on forums that isn't exclusively held by flash clubs and their contacts in forums (decentralising it). It is probably far less profitable than what we have, now, but it's far more engaging, and even if any devs know that, I don't think they'd be allowed to run with it. The game is more pay-to-win than ever before, its soul has been stripped, and even the forums community is dying without a significant contingent of people know it exists or want to continue it. To curious, new players, there are better games... To those who understand, there is little left to be said, the devs don't know or have ignored the truth for long enough, and I believe those good ideas will continue to fade.
Thanks for explaining. Everyone has the right to find their own way to have fun. š I know some like to only socialize and not party or other just want to hop on the game to UL and without feeling the need to commit to chat. I personally donāt like to get to know people in clubs hoping in and or not. The less better it is. Thought, true some players like to have chatty club chat. Thanks! For the āReskinā explanation. I am glad other people are able to provide information. It may not the right term, I used to think. Yet, I understand your meaning. True; forums has been less active (except for some guides/ some ideas thread (hunt/art/Stories tears/bb/ Parties of the day and other recent varia) However; I feel itās a minority who is interested to debate or discuss of āoff topicā. Like any game; the cycle may be repetitive but I enjoy repetitive cuz itās less stressful to try to understand the different mechanisms again and gain ... š but thatās me. Other points mention; I agree with you; then again; Iāll probably reread as it is a long explanation. Therefore, I am reading it as my second language so I might have miss unintentional some things. š„ŗ Do you mean the attempts (reference to ) doing hunt of 21 days ? By ārehauling the systemā ? (sorry if I misunderstood it) Definitely, interesting your point on collaborative discussion. Again, ty for explaining this to me. I apologize for misunderstanding the original post. Take care. š
You have a point; Pimd is more like a dress-up game nowadays. I remembered my first gameplay 7-8 years ago and it was always all about wars and stuff. I made this new account in 2018 and the change was super big! I adapted pretty quickly all thanks to my first home club. But still, 2018 is a much different time than 2021. Some newer POTD clubs doesn't seem to last long. Members go to premium clubs because of curiosity, and they'd stay because of higher plunder and drop count from parties. GoddessHailey has a point too, there is more than one way to play this game. Everyone has different reasons why they play. But even so, we can't deny the fact that a bigger percent of PIMD's gameplay is heavily relied on spending real cash to get the most of everything. And some players who don't like to invest money progresses slower. Hence why I think they lose interest.
Additionally, it is a game time consuming if you wanna succeed like any game to my knowledge. Spending real money or being a F2P (free to play) but definitely some find the game confusing and have the desire to be at the of the world and when they cannot succeed quick enough. They may lose interest like you said @Sansa More and more players found it more stability into having short or long break of the game and come back (skip hunt). It is a lot āhealthierā. (To everyone who spoke to me decide to take a break š and felt a lot better when they decided to briefly check in š). Iām not saying they are staying on the game for months but they feel better to have less commitments. Right, @Sansa the premium club made a comeback over the 3 years and keeps growing and that remain the playerāsāchoice. New club donāt last long because they like to own a club but they forget how much time and effort you need to build it. Many presidents go off due to personal reasons leaving all to under admins so it is a struggle. Plus members arenāt necessarily active enough to keep the club afloat. Rather, the combination of inactive players drags the club to the ground š„“ or it struggles to complete in time. But thatās probably not the topic of the original post. Lack of details which part or which complaints wasnāt heard and we will probably never know and only speculate š„ŗ I donāt remember missing a day since I start playing. I know it is time consuming but I like to help around (im probably not the best reference too) + I like to collect stuff. Plus, I see more people taking the time into trying to help new players even if thereās no āformal recognition for thisā (not referring to HS) just in general from when I came to know. I see a difference not saying thereās no improvement but I āa much different ā from 2018 to now. Well, I better stop replying on new thread(s). Iām completely zoning out and starting to speak nonsense š. Take care š and I absolutely enjoy reading other views. Ty for continuing the dialogue.
Normally the discussion was actually based on the game. Off-topic was a distraction, something attended to when there weren't interesting updates or drama. That was the bone of forums activity. I think I misunderstood your question but I'll try to answer it. If I've missed the mark, plz ask it again. :: I was critiquing the current hunt format by comparing it to my favourite hunt: dormlympics. Every party dropped collectible pins and discovering them required collaboration between many clubs and players. There were 216 pins to collect. In more current hunts, all the collaboration that is needed is between 1 person in a flash club (who spends a lot of money), and 1 person who can do bb coding in forums. Sometimes devs have hunts with 2 paths, then you just need an extra flasher and someone to write. It's not very extensive. Player-made guides tend to also use lots of collaboration but they don't happen often, and aren't requested or incentivized by the devs, themselves. We can always make our own fun, and nobody can stop those keen enough from doing that, anywhere. I try to encourage new players to do that, but the options aren't so varied. The "meta" or optimal way to play is uninvolved. The game will always have players who don't want to get into ths nitty gritty, but going deep can be rewarded better.
Yes, the only way they officially recognize us is with Honor Student, but that requires creativity, and a lot of effort. It's too prestigious and there is no real encouragement from ths devs on the way there. You've either made it or you haven't, they don't seem to pat players on the back when they do good things. The addition of Muschi to the team was amazing and well-overdue but still, there are less than 10 HS in all the 10 years this game has been out. Less thab 1/year, and also less than 1 per million downloads of the app.
True, unless thereās more people who refused to have the title as it is too prestigious to uphold. Oh wow I was clearly so sleep deprived. My last post definitely make no sense;šš£ canāt edit whelp š and I totally forgot to quote you š Okay. My mind associates what is in bold in the quoted text. I thought you refer to an improvement (an attempt to make it different) of the game, such as a long hunt of 21 days. True, it is a rare opportunity. I think it was the hunt: Spring Break 2019; when it happens first?
Yeah, I was suggesting that if they used a different type of hunt, that it could change the character of the game and how we as players interact with it for the better. More collaboration, more fun, less stress, etc. PvP hunts have been mega popular and we love a PvP story. On the google play store; reading reviews, new players are told that peace tags will save them from farmers but they don't work. The only thing that makes those people enjoy pvp and pimd as a game is being encouraged to do it. If it was more balanced (devs have to figure this one out, although they've tried also doing this through hunts quite well) and more beneficial (hunts definitely do this), then there'd be less complaints. They hide from pvp. They hide from club loyalty mattering. They hide from giving players secrets to discover together (except when we ask to know more about pvp or trade, because most devs don't know, themselves). I think the profit incentive leads them to shy away from promoting the actually interesting parts of the game. It can always be macro'd (using repetitive actions that need little thought). I think cc clubs will continue to exist even if they updated things in the direction I want for over a year, they'd still be viable and popular and there would be whale players. Doing good things takes more work from the devs and they found an easy cookie-cutter for hunts that make them lots of money so they can focus on misleading advertising, downgrading the app's rating to 15+(that's what I'm seeing, now) , and making it a room decorating game for vsco tweens. š¬ They have some things they look at to see how successful a hunt was but I think they lack actual game design knowledge. The players comment on every update with critiques and suggestions and it doesn't take a galaxy brain to know how to make the game, better. They just compromise on their artistic vision for capital, too much.
