Stores are all slowly closing in canada now =[ I'm not a fan of the survivalist rationing peoples, it's extremist and they need to stop, but remember to stock up on pet food just in case stores close. Your cat/dog doesn't understand why you suddenly stopped feeding them if you run out.
I’ve been having this same thought process. My mom has probably bought more dog food than food for us because she’s so worried.
what really needs to stop is the government allowing businesses to close but leaving the people to keep paying bills, like wtf?
everybody loves to be told what to do by another person, thats why nobodys rebelled against the government yet. smfh
I'm against panic buying/hoarding but this is so important. There's a difference between stocking much more than you need and making sure you have the necessary for emergencies. Especially for pets and small children.
American government has always been fucked. Canadian government is giving emergency funding to citizens if they need it. Idk about other countries but keep an eye on the news for funding or whatever is available in your area if you need it
Other countries need to learn from El Salvador. The president there basically shut the entire country down once they got the very first case of COVID-19, and had a hospital built. He froze any payments from his citizens such as rent, mortgage, phone bills, water bills, electricity, credit card payments, car payments, internet, etc, without cutting their services. Regardless of the shut-down they will continue to receive their monthly salaries for the next 3 months. This includes street vendors and people that don't work for employers in the traditional way and just work to make end's meet. This third-world "shithole country" is doing more for its citizens than the self proclaimed "greatest country on Earth" without having anywhere near the wealth that the US has.
This is akin to people saying everyone needs to follow Norway when it comes to free schooling and rehabilitation programs. Smaller populations are easier to work with. El Salvador has a population of 6.378 million. That's v smol, it's easy to build one hospital. The us has a population of 327.2 million. Imagine the surplus of hospitals you guys would need and whatever else. It's great what they did but isn't as easily replicable in larger countries especially on short notice.
The hospital isnt the main focus. It's the ability to get their citizens out of their jobs and put a hold on all their monthly payments while still giving them their normal monthly income for the next 3 months. The US is hundreds, if not thousands of times over wealthier than El Salvador. They are wealthy enough to do the same for its citizens. Any of the superpowers are.
You’re thinking of the US government as an entity that is FOR the people, but the government could give a damn about the 99% of ordinary people. It’s not a question of can we afford it, it’s a question of are we going to keep up with the same bullshit over and over again?
Duddddddeeeeeee....the survivalist people have been prepping for this their whole lives. Your beef is with the people who rushed out at the last minute and caused a disruption in the supply chain. Those people are NOT preppers or survivalists. We don't claim them. Don't confuse them with us! Also, if you're gonna stock up on pet foods don't forget an air tight storage vessel to keep the critters out.
There’s people buying up all the diapers and baby formulas and trying to sell them for triple the price 😓 smh
Not just baby stuff, tbh. It's a time of great need and the greedy mfers are coming out of the woodwork.
