  1. This is my first posting of a chapter of a story I'd had recently written and I hope you all will like it. :D Enjoy!

    Chapter 1: The Beginning

Gabrielle's sleek stylish boots slushed threw the snow with every step she took. Holding her small digital camera in the palm of her right hand, she was searching for something for her latest story for the school's paper, attending Adkinsville University was only a small fraction of her story as to why she was in this small town in the middle of no where. Pushing her dirty blonde curls away from her eyes, she squinted her eyelids to see threw the thick white beads falling down from the mourning clouds. She walked down the street of endless matching apartments, hoping to see the campus' snow covered lawns. Out of the corner of her eye one complex stood out before her. Skidding to a stop she starred up at the wondrous apartment door, she knew who lived here. "Thomas Mowery." She thought to herself as once forgotten memories flooded back into her head, shivering she remembered how the coldness of his fingers had trailed across her bare skin, gentle, but unforgettably cold. These memories haunted her, which she wanted to so badly forget the perfect world she wanted to live in, the world she knew was forbidden to her kind. Gabrielle wrapped her arms around herself, unthoughtful about her attire for the unforgiving winter's reign of terror. Dressed in navy jegging's, long sleeved but loose white sweat shirt and army green jacket, she gnawed her lower lip. She turned into his sidewalk and walked towards the porch, it had been months since they had spoken to each other. She knew she had to talk to him sooner or later professionally about a murder which everyone in the small town of Adkinsville knew. A rumor was on the lips of every young adult from Adkinsville's local college, that Thomas Mowery was being questioned and accused for the murder of a well loved student named Clarissa Adams. She was found dead in the campus' parking lot under a thick pool of blood, with strange markings appeared to be carved into her skin. Police had said to the local paper that the carvings were afflicted with a nearby city gang, Gabrielle on the other hand, didn't believe so. Gabrielle knew it was more than just luck to find one of her own, one of Fey, dead yet again by the same unknown killer in other Fey territory across the United States. Gabrielle pursed her lips together, sucking in a small breath she hopped onto the cement porch. Nearing the door she noticed the wooden door stood its ground an inch from the lock, opened but not broken. Shoving her camera back into her coat pocket, Gabrielle pushed the door silently off to the aside to peer her head in, scanning with her cat-like emerald green eyes. Her slithered pupils were a sign to the other fairies, also known as the Fey, were one of them. Every fairy has a signature which humans cannot see. Gabrielle's eyes were her signature. Since she saw no movement, she took the opportunity. She stepped there the door like she was crossing a threshold and never to return. While pulling her charcoal boots off she looked up to see the living room, a warm colored plush couch facing towards a blazing fire in the chimney, a coffee table stood it's ground before the couch. Gabrielle was aghasted to see the room just the way she remembered. Walking cautiously across the chocolate toned wooden floor in her socks. Gabrielle noticed one thing different, turning towards the couch, she saw a brightly colored Vera Bradley purse with a fine purely creamed colored coat. Tip toeing over she studied the hand bag carefully, opening it she pulled out the wallet, checking for any identification. Nothing. She half chuckled to herself, where did this purse come from? Then again, fairies love playing pratical jokes and pranks on humans, they were the mindless yet playful toys for the Fey's entertainment. Gabrielle signed to herself as she placed the wallet back into the purse the way she'd found it. By the looks of the first floor and how eerily silent it was, nobody was here. Gabrielle didn't fully understand what she was doing here in Thomas' home...because of her curiosity that she used to find the answers to her stories? Or was there something else left to say to him? Passing threw the living room stood in front of her a grand carpeted staircase, Gabrielle's pale fingers traced the freezing smooth metal on the hand rail, she had to know if he was involved with Clary's death and to see what answers she can get her gut instincts told her. Taking her first step up the dull colored carpet while placing her right hand on the wall. Leaving her left hand left to wander up the hand rail, extremely careful not to let the floor creek beneath her feet. Half way up the stairs she heard it, his breathing. Her inhuman hearing remembered the faint hiccup in each breath he took, all words died in her throat. Slowly taking another step she heard him, his voice in a hushed tone. "Please?" Gabrielle hurried silently up the stairs, then another voice whispered, obviously feminine,"Anything, for you..." Gabrielle held her breath, closing in on the door which was wide open. Hugging close to the wall, she closed her eyes and reached into her coat pocket, wrapping her fingers tightly around her camera, a reflex she learned as an experienced reporter. A heavy silence filled the stuffy dimly lighted hallway, out from the darkness a soft noise rose to shatter the almost unbearable silence. Gabrielle eyes widen as she listened to the hunger, passion, and lust wandering perfectly into her sensitive ears. With her camera ready at hand, she peaked her head inside the room... Not knowing what she will find.

    Chapter 2- The Damned

Gabrielle's eyes scanned the room instantly, noticing the greatly pale tone of grey paint on the wall. Droning out anything cheerful and bright in the atmosphere.

Turning her attention from the wall to a wide amazingly detailed mahogany computer desk, standing its ground against the far wall while a laptop left wide open, the screen blank of any signs of recent usage in the last few minutes. Along with the laptop a clutter of papers were tossed and spewed across the surface of the desk. Strangely there was no chair to be seen as a set with the desk.

Gabrielle's pulse raged in her veins beneath her skin as her head snapped to the side, focusing on the king sized bed placed against the far right side of the room, across from the desk. The zebra striped cover to the bed was thrown off and left unnoticed by a quick movement of two entwined hands, attracting Gabrielle's full attention.

Gabrielle stood there stunned seeing Thomas muscular arms pressed into the mattress roughly, moving closer down onto the girl beneath him, his arms on either side of the brunette. Noticing Thomas bare chested forced Gabrielle's breath to be caught inside her throat. Gabrielle watched as Thomas' lips were to be pressed forcefully against the girl's, the brunette beneath him smiled wickedly as she let her arms snake around his neck to return the same amount of pressure from her lips to his.

Gabrielle could only stand there as once buried feelings could only pull her heavy heart down to the empty pits of her stomach. Gabrielle's mind raced as she raised her hands quickly, her pointer finger pressing down on a flat round button, suddenly a bright flash of light beamed from her camera that rested in the palms of her hands.

"Run!" Her mind screamed at her.

Gabrielle moved to quickly for the naked eye to follow, appearing at the top of the stairs, she loomed down at the tall flight of stairs, without any more thought she sprinted down the carpeted steps, reaching the wooden floor her socks lost its grip on the smooth surface, her feet buckled out before her as she fell flat on her back. This didn't stop Gabrielle as she rolled back on her spine and threw her body foreword in a quick blaze of movement, landing gracefully on her feet.

Gabrielle felt trickles of water tickle her cheeks, ignorantly she sprinted towards the door. Gabrielle tried to stop but her feet flew out before her as she slammed into the wall beside the door, her side throbbed with the sudden shock of force, blinded by what she finally realized were tears. Raising her right hand quickly to wipe the traitorous tears away.

Finally spotting her boots as she shoved her feet into them, almost outside. Straightening up with one foot out of the door, she believed for a second that she was home free until a firm hand gripped her shoulder, pulling her back stumbling into the dreaded house, with the quick escape of air her body dragged back inside the house the door slamming shut before her.

    Trapped.

    Coming soon...Chapter 3, The Burned.
