Anime isnt a subgenre of cartoons…Anime is usually based off Manga and geared toward viewers 13+. It tends to be alot darker/"adult" than cartoons. Cartoons were created to be the western version of anime (so if you want to be technical Cartoons are a subgenre of anime) theyre usually made for kids (Dora, Annoying orange, etc) some cartoons are adapted from comics (the western version of Manga) and there are cartoons made for adults. But Anime and Cartoons are completely different things.
Those arent opinions. XD thats fact. There really is a HUGE difference in anime and Cartoons. The ones i posted are only a few. I assume you really didnt think out your original post? since even the newest fan of anime knows cartoons and anime arent even close to the same thing.

Anime is a japanese cartoon or animation. End of argument. Let's not argue and agree that theres difference of opinions.
About my opinion, anime is more close to the reality while cartoon, it cannot be happen in real life... well, cartoon is just for kids.. but I like adventures time!
