When Darkness Comes

  1. Hey guys. This is my first time posting so I hope you enjoy this short story.

I once had a great life. Somewhat perfect if you must say. I was a successful stockholder, living in a Victorian style house- my dream house. I had some great friends, an awesome sports car, and lastly, Elsa, the love of my life. I met her a year ago at one of my friends Christmas party. She was just standing there at the corner of the room, observing the other guests who had attended the party. She looked so damn sexy on a Chandra gown, with her long curly brown hair and beautiful green-emerald eyes. And those lips, God how I loved those rosy lips of hers. So luscious and full that it made me wonder how it would taste like. After downing down 2 glasses of champagne I finally had the nerve to approach her. She was really friendly when I started a conversation with her. She was also funny and witty. We soon started it off as friends, but after a few weeks we became a couple after I realized how much she wanted me, just as much as I wanted her. Everything was perfect. At least, that's what I thought until fate took her away from me. Soon after that, nothing else mattered…
"Kyle, please help me." Elsa said as she pleaded from inside the burning car.
"Don't worry, baby. I'm coming." I was about to run toward the car until someone grabbed a hold of me by the shoulders.
"Kyle, it's too late. There's nothing you can do about it." My bestfriend, Cole, said while trying to do his best holding me to prevent me from going to Elsa.
"No. Now let me go!" I screamed and squirmed, trying to break free of his grip on me. Suddenly, the car exploded. As I watched what happened, I fell to the ground on my knees, trying to deny the events that have just occured.
"This can't be happening. This can't really be happening." I mumbled. "I'm sorry, Elsa. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to save you."
"You lied to me, Kyle. You said you'd be there for me when I needed help, but you lied. You lied!"
I looked up to see Elsa's burnt figure in front of me, anger and despair evident on her eyes as she looked straight at me. "I'm really sorry, baby. Please forgive me. I'm sorry."
I woke up from the nightmare I was having. I was drenched in sweat, my hands trembling. It's been 3 months since Elsa's death yet everything still felt so fresh.'I can't take it anymore. I'm coming, Elsa. I'm coming to see you baby.' I thought to myself.
I got up from my bed, took the revolver from my drawer, and pointed it up my chin. I then said a silent prayer and pulled the trigger. After that, everything went blank and I was soon engulfed in darkness.
    ~~THE END~~
