Under Lock And Key

There was a girl, her name unknown,
And as blank as she could be.
For some reason, She always kept,
her thoughts under lock and key.

She shut away her feelings, ever so swift,
And put them on a shelf.
It's quite sad how the girl always found,
A way to hide from herself.

The bitter whispers always remind her;
She was different from the start.
These words slowly entered her mind,
And they tore that girl apart.

Physical scars weren't there, but her mind was definitely broken.
She'd like others to know, but she keeps to herself, never a word spoken.

She was tired of being stupid, fed up with worthlessness, finished with being plain.
Through all her efforts of becoming perfect?
That girl was driven insane.
