2121 a.d My name is Zoë and I am part of the program. Not just any program though. I'm part of the G.A.H.D or the Genetically Altered Human Division, in other words, I'm one of the few not made on accident. I was "born"-wait not born. I never had a mother, or father. I was born in an A.U.C, along with my 99 "brothers and sisters". Well none of us are really related, we all came from the same chamber though. We were the first unit born without unintentional mutations (U.Ms as we call them), we were the first to survive. Each of us has DNA hand selected from only the smartest, strongest, and most powerful people to walk the earth. I myself am a combination of a mermaid and a vampire. You may think that none of those exist, but you would be dead wrong. Any mythical creature you have ever heard about or even thought of exists. Captured by the government not much longer before WW1. Despite what you may have heard both world wars were caused by different countries fighting over rare creatures. World war one by leprechauns and elfs, World War two by unicorns and mermaids. But don't raise your hopes about magic powers, the last once of magic was destroyed but traitors over 150 years ago. But the mother creatures never did. Because of this I can speak to any aquatic animal, turn into a bat, can grow a tail, and can harness the water to do whatever I want. Sometimes they have bread non-humanoid animals for us, resulting in creatures such as the UniFoot. We were each given a creature such as this when we turn 10. I am the proud owner of a Vampire Cat, an unfortunate accident from when I was 3 and my fangs were growing in. Because of this she was named DeathBite. For 17 years we have lived in a secure environment, surrounded by metal bars and steel. It took them almost 18 years to train us, but everything is about to change. In a week the unit turns 18, and we will be given an assignment. Gina Valei. Ninja. Like thise awesome samurai things, and a robot. ._. Can hack, shows up in random times and is very silent. Kind of like Nagato from the Melamcholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Red hairband and ties in a high ponytail. Black hair with red highlights. Red eyes and wears black framed glasses. Dresses up like a japanese school girl, matching red uniform. ._. White shirt with red skirt and a hankerchief around neck. Wears black flats and white long socks. Has a dagger hidden in sock. Super fast reflexes, super senses, and can talk in various languages. Kinda like a super computer. Knows everything on the internet and such.
It was our last week of training, I awoke to Kayla's panicked screams. "DeathBite! Get the **** off Taxi before I skin your wretched hide!" I sighed and rolled over to face our small room. Kayla was in the middle if the room, still in her pajamas screaming at DeathBite, while she sat nonchalantly in the corner holding Kayla's rodent Taxi. "Zoë I swear to god if you don't get your flea ridden animal off Taxi I'm going to blast him into his next life!" "You know you can't do that." Kayla became silent. Being a angel-shapeshifter hybrid she had little magic. She could grow wings out of her back and change her skin, hair and eye color. Blasting anything anywhere was not something she could do. "Just get her off Taxi already." I crawled out of my bunk and picked up DeathBite. She had the most unusual marking you could find on a cat. During the day she had blue eyes and was white with a back chest and paws, during the night her eyes turned amber and she turned black with a white chest and paws. I stroked her as I took Taxi out of her mouth. Since Kayla was given Taxi DeathBite had made it her sworn mission to kill and destroy the rodent, and had come close on many occasions since. "I swear Zoë if you don't get that animal under control I will..." Kayla droned on and on as we got ready, usually she was quiet but in our room she had no off switch. I grabbed my jumpsuit, black and purple, vampire training today. I made sure my hair corresponded, yep, purple streaks. All I had to do was spritz it with a little water and they would immediately turn blue, a drastic contrast to my jet black hair. I looked over at Kayla. She was nervously chewing her lip as she brushed her hair. Her white and yellow outfit made it clear that she would be in flight training. I looked at our schedules, I was right, flying lessons and air safety for her all day. I would be in hunting instinct and restraint. Two important classes for a carnivore humanoid. Kayla looked at me. "Ready to go?" We stepped into our pods with our animals. I looked at the coordinate panel. Unit 001, group 10, hunting instinct. Our unit was divided into 10 groups with 10 G.As per group. All organized by name and age. I came out of the growth chamber last, so I am the youngest and my name comes last. Dispute that I'm one of the G.As that you wouldn't mess with. The pod rushed towards H.I at breakneck speed. After 15 years you become used to it, but back then we all had escorts. The pod docked at the H.I dock with seconds to spare. "Ok class, settle down." We all stopped to face Mr. Blood, the H.I teacher. "Today is our final exam, and it's a test to see if you're up for your graduation task. You will be sent into this simulation chamber, given a task or target, and have to complete it within the guidelines. Xavier, you first." Xavier smiled as he walked down to the chamber entrance. Being a demon/werewolf mix he was a natural killer. He flipped his dark hair and smiled at me. I laughed. Despite what people might think me and him were best friends, but unfortunately Kayla couldn't stand him. "Xavier you will be in a remote forest. Relying on scent you will need to find your target. You cannot morph into a werewolf unless you are within a half mile if the target, and no summoning demon hounds to stiff him out." "No prob chief." Xavier stepped into the chamber as the area around him morphed. We looked at the steen as he inspected the surroundings. I looked in the sky. Full moon. Xavier saw it too. He stiffened, frantically trying to remember everything he learned about restraint. After an hour of walking around Xavier slowly changed into a werewolf. He turned the corner to pounce on the target, a real human given the death sentence. Instead of the electric chair they would be given a much more gruesome death. After a minute of screaming and biting the target stopped moving. Xavier changed back and stepped out of the chamber, still covered in the mans blood. He quietly sat down while Mr. Blood called out the next name. "Zoë." I beached in, and whispered to myself. 'Come on Zoë, you can do this.' I walked to the front of the room. I was nervous, the last time we had an assignment like this I ended up feasting on everybody I could find. I was determined to stop that from happening again. "Zoë, your assignment is very special." I gulped. Whenever a teacher says "special" they mean hard. "You will be tracking down Rita Valei, the sister of notorious terrorist Gina Valei. This of course is a genetic duplicate..." I sighed, I simple target so I get the blood scent. I was so relieved that I didn't think to pay attention to the rest of what he was saying. "You got it?" "Of course!" I stepped into the chamber, filled with confidence. The scenery around me started to change. I found myself in a room filled with people.
