Trouble Sleeping

  1. I haven't been able to sleep easily for a while now and my parents are starting to notice. The left side of my head hurts almost constantly and I have been drinking Nyquil in hopes it will help me sleep. It has barely helped.

    When I do sleep it is usually for a few hours at a time where I wake up,turn the clock,and see that it is 3:00 am. Right now being an example.

    Waking up is unpleasant. I rarely feel rejuvenated even though, when I can, I wake up at a late time of day such as 1:00 pm.

    I should probably mention that I am depressed. That is definitely a factor to my loss of sleep.

    I really want some sleeping tips. What I've found online doesn't really work and I'm hoping people here might have good advice.

  3. Maybe you end up overthinking a lot during the night and it keeps you up?

    Forcing yourself to sleep when you can't doesn't help. When it happens to me I try to do other things, talk to someone, doodle or play a game but avoid social media and pimd.  too much going on in those.

  7. Exercise. Go for a jog.
    Eat well, fresh foods and cut down on processed and fried stuff. Do not eat supper.
    Skip the caffeine. Drink more plain water.
    Go for a massage.

  8. By the way check with a doctor on what is happening with the left part of your head. Check if it was caused by sleep deprivation or by other reasons.

  10. Wth kinda advice is that Omar? Lol.. Don't do that.. Try drinking less caffeine for starters, go do stuff you enjoy, and try not to worry so Much, if your depressed tell your parents and don't keep it to yourself
     
  11. True, it releases chemicals that greatly relaxes the body to decrease arousal
     
  12. Go to a doctor. I highly doubt people on here are medical experts, so your doctor will have the best answers.

  17. Some fall asleep better to music, others with lights on, others with the TV on, etc. You could try different methods to see if they work.

  19. Happens to a lot of people. Main reasons being u r either sad or in a lot of stress and got too much going on in life...unfortunately this isn't something that u can just cure away easily. It will take time, so take it slow. At night when u can't sleep listen to some songs that u like ( u know those ones that u feel the lyrics). Going for a drive also helps to clear ur head and make u feel refreshed and should help u sleep. At times when u feel really low I suggest u talk to that one friend who really understands u, it helps a lot .
    And like wolf said, switch of ur phone n clear ur head. Too much of pimd is just like radiation poisoning, kills u slowly.
    Really dont think u need any meds or need to see a doc. This happens to almost everyone at some point of their life. It will pass...
