Since I'd be Missing In Action for a while soon, I thought it'd be good to share my thoughts thus far on PIMD. 1) This game appears to be more SOCIAL than anything else. Not much strategy, multi-tasking abilities, or quick processing speed or agility is required to fare well in this game. Rather, doing well in this game seems to be about having strong connections with a multiplicity of 'wealthy' and experienced PIMD gamers. Therein lies the attractiveness of this game. Social interaction is fundamental to the essence of humanity and everything about this game from the membership in clubs, gift giving, and status messages are about social interaction. Quite ideal for gamers who seldom get to socialise outside of school or work settings! 2) Just like in the real world, both positive and negative influences are transmitted through this gaming platform. There are the friendly kind ones who play the game, as well as cyberbullies and those who tend to be more vulgar or sexually-motivated. It sits well with most people as long as gamers do not go overboard with their remarks, actions, or post obscene statements on forum or campus chat. 3) Personally, I felt that it was a greater joy to spend my PIMD money on giving out gifts to strangers than on upgrading my account. This is because giving out gifts evoked real joy and sense of accomplishment in me, whereas upgradingmy account made me attach my sense of worth to a virtual avatar - which was risky. 4) PIMD is a platform for many people to flirt, according to my observations. However, so-called 'harmless' flirting often leads to real life emotional attachments, hurts, and damages to real life relationships. You have to remember that people you flirt with are not the avatars you see on screen, but real life people who have families, real life lovers. And whatnot. So my advice is to preferably keep the game a game, and not a dating or flirting arena. Cheers, Faith
