    That's impossible.

    My mom's friend had a premature baby, who wasn't covered in tubes. She was in a nursery like all the other babies.

  19. Contact with parents is highly promoted as long as it is safe for the baby's health. The caregivers would not have allowed him to hug the baby unless it was deemed safe beforehand, so regardless of whether the baby has tubes, if he says he hugged her then clearly it was okay to do so.

    Additionally, congratulations! A baby is truly a little miracle.
