That was what freedom meant. He kicked back the covers on his thin mattress, unable to sleep, listening out for the same old noises of night here. The lazy scuff of heels in the corridor outside, low voices and laughs as the wardens trudged the night beat. Banging about somewhere, a foul-mouthed yell for silence, taken up by other prisoners too bored or too wired to sleep. Jonah guessed that young offenders institutes weren't exactly designed with sweet dreams in mind. Two months so far. Two months into a year-long stretch and it already seemed like forever. They called it 'doing time' but it seemed more like time was 'doing him', and roughly. Every day hung loose about him like a sweater on a stick-man, no matter how he tried to bulk out the hours. There were peer literacy workshops, where he would teach the other inmates to read for an hour - well, until they threw their next strop and threatened to ram the books down his throat, anyway. Then there were personal health classes, focusing on chiefly drᏌgs and sεx - but since they never told you hwo to get your hands on either, few people bothered to go. You could try a bit of music and drama if you didn't mind being beaten up by the hard-cases afterwards... Then there was the biggest joy of all, resettlement class. That is where they make you fill out forms for jobs you either didn't want or wouldn't get anyway. 'i want to work somewhere with computers' jonah had insisted 'after what you did to get in here?' his personal officer laughed 'Dream on son' he said.

So you've got your plot sorted? Good. I still have no idea about my prequel, I am litrilary writing it's prequel now on my notes (yes I can't spell) lol
