A decade ago, people were kinder. You could travel anywhere in the world and enjoy a very global and inclusive world. In the last few years, it feels as if the world has become a very polar, us vs them society. People are busy fighting each other and blaming those who don't look like them or are part of their tribe created in their mind while super rich people way above them are just using all of them to get richer and more powerful. It's a true divide and rule strategy. Sadly, it's coming into affect around the same time when AI is fundamentally going to change everything as well soon enough. I wish some sense prevails and the world heals a bit.
Its coz the internet is highly influencing how people act in real life. And the internet is toxic as fuck. 10yrs ago was better coz the world wasnt fully taken over by it yet. But now its been long enough that people exist who only ever know the internet and never experienced a life in the real world. Everyone lives on their phones and computers now instead of with people and life and the world they are in
interesting take, but kinda true. Many people who are 25 years old and older have influenced world only through internet, which means that all the stereotypes are real for them in the world they live in. It has become way too easy to control world wide narrative with internet and propoganda with botnets etc as well. With newspaper and traditional media, it was somewhat controlled. We are reaching 1984 levels.
