Updates Oct 23, 13:30 PM PT We’ve made a few tweaks to make your haunting and role-checking even smoother: Haunt Token Update Death just got a little less limiting! You can now buy up to 5 Haunt Tokens per day (instead of 2 per death). You can also hold a maximum of 5 at a time — so stock up wisely and spread that spooky chaos when it counts! /role Chat Command Update The /role command will now send a quick reminder of the event’s core mechanics along with your current role. Perfect for players just joining (or rejoining) the infection! TL;DR Opt in to join the chaos by buying the Vampiric Contract from The Stakes are High event section in the store for 1B Cash. Once you do, you’ll secretly become either a Human or Vampire. Party to play! Every completed party can change your fate: Vampires infect, Humans survive, Hunters hunt, Doctors cure, and Ghosts have their own tricks up their sleeve... Earn Drops of Blood from any party (not just POTD!) to climb the The Stakes are High XC leaderboard. Your role can change! Get bitten, die, be reincarnated, or take on temporary roles like Hunter or Doctor by earning their rare tokens from Parties! Vampires earn small bonus points for every Human infected! Hunters can slay Vampires with Crossbows (but miss, and you die instead) to earn massive bonus points! Doctors can cure infected players and are marked in chat with a syringe emoji. Ghosts do not earn Drops of Blood, but can get up to their own shenanigans 👻 Type /role in the special Stake Hearts 101 chat channel at any time to see your current role. The XC leaderboard is anonymous. ✨ New profile awards ✨ will go to the top Vampires, Hunters, and Ghosts after the event. How It Works To partake in the mystery, purchase a Vampiric Contract from the store. It may take 5–10 minutes for The Stakes Are High event to display in-game. Restarting the app may not show it immediately. Purchase for 1B Cash. From here, you’ll secretly take on one of two roles: Human or Vampire. (Most of you will start out Human… for now 😈) Check your notices to find out which role you’ve been assigned. Purchasing the Vampiric Contract unlocks The Stakes Are High XC event (you may need to restart your app!). To place in this XC, you must collect Drops of Blood. HOW TO EARN DROPS OF BLOOD Drops of Blood don’t follow the normal party schedule; they can drop from ANY party! Each party has a max number of drops that tends to scale with its difficulty and length. Party smart, or party doomed — either way, the infection can spread through any party. SPECIAL ROLES: HUNTERS & DOCTORS While partying, there’s a small chance to earn Hunter Tokens or Doctor Tokens but only Humans redeem these for roles: Hunters take aim at Vampires. Doctors keep the living… well, living. Humans can exchange these Tokens in the store to temporarily become one of these roles, but beware! There’s a campus limit on how many Hunters and Doctors can exist at once. If the cap is full, you’ll have to wait until another player’s shift ends. Not interested in hunting vampires nor healing the infected? You can also exchange 2 Tokens for a 2-hour 10% Cash Boost instead! WAIT, WHO AM I AGAIN? Things can get pretty chaotic when there's a vampire outbreak going around. For any temporary roles, you can also check your Temporary Bonuses section on your profile to see how much time you have left in that role. (Permanent roles like Human or Vampire won’t appear there.) Roles 👨🏻🦰 HUMAN 👩🏼🦱 YOUR MISSION Your goal is to survive as many parties as possible without getting bitten by a Vampire. VISIBILITY Secret! There’s no indicator that someone is Human – and everyone will probably say they’re Human (even when they’re not 🫢) XC SCORING Earn Drops of Blood from parties to score on the XC. SPECIAL ABILITIES Humans have no special abilities (womp womp), but can take on the Doctor or Hunter role (read more about this below). 🧛 VAMPIRE 🧛♂️ YOUR MISSION Your goal is to survive as many parties as possible without getting discovered as a Vampire while infecting as many Humans as you can! VISIBILITY Secret! Nobody knows when you’re a Vampire and you want to make sure to keep your identity hidden. Otherwise a Hunter may find you and kill you (more about dying below). XC SCORING Earn Drops of Blood from parties to score on the XC. Get ✨ bonus points✨ for every Human you infected! SPECIAL ABILITIES Vampires have a small chance of infecting a Human when completing a Party with them. 😷 INFECTED 🧟♀️ YOUR MISSION So you’ve been bitten by a Vampire... the clock is ticking! Any time you party with a Doctor, you have a chance of being cured! BUT HURRY. If you aren't cured when your timer runs out, you will die and become a Ghost, then eventually come back as a Vampire yourself. If you are infected, you have 18 hours to get cured before you die. VISIBILITY Secret! There is nothing indicating that someone is Infected. XC SCORING Earn Drops of Blood from parties to score on the XC. SPECIAL ABILITIES None, you're dying. The Infected also cannot take on the Hunter or Doctor role while sick. 🔪 HUNTER 🏹\ YOUR MISSION Your one true purpose is to find and kill Vampires! VISIBILITY Secret! XC SCORING Earn Drops of Blood from parties to score on the XC. ✨ Huge bonus points ✨ for every Vampire you kill! SPECIAL ABILITIES 👉 Hunters are immune to vampire bites! 👉Hunters also have a chance of receiving a hint after a party completes, giving them a list of 15 players of which at least one is a Vampire. Vampires, look out 👀 👉 Hunters get 2 x Loaded Hunter's Crossbow which they can use to kill a Vampire. However, if a Hunter gets it wrong and shoots at a non-Vampire, they will die instead! So hunt wisely... HUNTING WITH THE CROSSBOW To use the Crossbow, a Hunter must go to their target’s profile, tap the Fight button, then choose the “Fight” action. Select the Crossbow item to use on the target. ⚠️ NOTE: Hunting another player is NOT a PvP move. No matchmaking PvP buckets, no lost energy, no gained/stolen Cash. Just you, your target, and the thrill of the hunt. 👉 The Hunter role lasts for 6 hours, after which there’s a 30 hour cooldown before being able to take on the role again. Doctors have a small chance to cure an Infected every time they complete a party together. The Doctor role lasts for 6 hours, after which there is a 30-hour cooldown before being able to take on the role again. Reminder: There is a campus-wide limit on how many Doctors there currently are! You may have to wait your turn to be someone's saving grace. 👻 GHOST 🪦 YOUR MISSION You died 💀 Now you're in time-out for 6 hours until you are resurrected as either as a Vampire or a Human depending on how you died. ROLES THAT CAN DIE Infected: Dies if not cured within 18 hours. Comes back as a Vampire after being a Ghost for 6 hours. Vampire: Dies if killed by a Hunter. Reincarnates as a Human after being a Ghost for 6 hours. Hunter: Dies if shooting an innocent. Reincarnates as a Human after being a Ghost for 6 hours. VISIBILITY Public! Ghosts get the 🪦 tombstone emoji 🪦 around their name. XC SCORING Ghosts DO NOT EARN DROPS OF BLOOD until they are back to being Human or a Vampire. SPECIAL ABILITIES 👉 Ghosts can haunt other players 👻 HOW TO HAUNT ANOTHER PLAYER Ghosts are able to purchase 2 x Haunt Tokens in the event store. Use a Haunt Token on another player to haunt them. Their victim may or may not be possessed in some way during their haunting... Definitely more trick than treat 😈 Every time you die, you’ll have the chance to buy up to 2 Haunt Tokens (you can only hold 2 at a time in your inventory). HOW TO USE THE HAUNT TOKEN To use the Haunt Token, a Ghost must go to their target’s profile, and tap the Fight button, then choose the “Fight” action. Select the Haunt Token item to use on the target. ⚠️ NOTE: Haunting another player doesn’t work like a normal PvP attack. Regular matchmaking rules are ignored meaning no energy is lost, no Cash is gained or stolen. Only pure, spooky fun (and a little chaos). 👻 HOW TO STOP AND/OR BLOCK A HAUNTING Sick of being tormented by the dead? Acquire the Ghost Block item to end a current haunt and prevent future ones for 24 hours. As for where to get it, we'll leave that up for you to figure out. Ghosts will get a notification and their token returned if their target has a blocker active! 👉 Ghosts can also earn this super cute spoopy rare drop from all parties! The Hopping Phantom is tradeable and is an exclusive drop for Ghosts. It has an owned max count of 3. XC Rewards Among the usual XC reward offerings are the above super cute, super deathly tradeable stat items! These two have a chance of dropping from the (non-tradeable) Stakes are High Reward Box. Purchase a Vampiric Contract (1B Cash) from the Store to participate. Once you do, you’ll be randomly assigned as a Human or Vampire (most players start as Human). This also unlocks the The Stakes Are High XC, but you may need to restart your app to see it. How do I place in The Stakes are High XC? Collect Drops of Blood which can drop from any party i.e. not just POTD! Some roles have special abilities that can grant you ✨ bonus points ✨ I just died! What happens now? Lucky for you, death is only temporary! When you die, you’ll become a Ghost and are placed in timeout for 6 hours and won’t be able to earn Drops of Blood. Afterwards, you’ll resurrect as either a Human or Vampire, depending on how you died. While a Ghost, you can also haunt other players in the event for fun 😜 Um, FUN. How do I haunt another player? What does haunting actually do? Purchase a Haunt Token from the store (max count 2), head to your victim's profile and use it as a PVP item. As for what it actually does... well. You'll just have to see how they lose control.... Eugh! I don't want to be Haunted, how can I stop it? Get your hands on a Ghost Block (we'll let you uncover the mystery of how to acquire one). It ends your current haunt and protects you for 24 hours. Ghosts will be notified and have their Haunt Token refunded if you’re protected. What are Hunter and Doctor Tokens? How do I get them? While partying, anyone in the event has a chance of earning a Hunter or Doctor Token. However, only Humans can redeem these in the Store to temporarily become a Hunter or Doctor. Each role lasts 6 hours and then goes on a 30-hour cooldown before you can take it again. I just got a Hunter/Doctor Token but I can't/don't want to use them. Exchange 2 Tokens in the event store for a 2-hour 10% Cash Boost instead. How do I get access to the Stake Hearts 101 chat channel? Buying a Vampiric Contract grants access to this special chat channel. Don’t worry, it took the team quite some time to grasp ahold of all the technicalities as well 😅 Each temporary role (ie Doctor, Hunter and Ghost) lasts 6 hours. Doctor and Hunter roles have a 30-hour cooldown in between! Check the Temporary Bonuses on your profile to double check your role timer!

I honestly love the fact that this is something new. Even tho it’s not conventional PvP I like how yall incorporated a little bit of “PvP” with this. ALSO LOVE THE FACT THERES NEW REWARDS!!!!!! One of these days tho I hope we can get an actual PvP hunt or side quest again. Happy spooky season 🤭☝🏼
