Most people have just one best friend right? I'm not like most. I have two best friends. My best friend Hailey who I've been best friends with since the 2nd grade who I can talk to about anything and my best friend Dylan. Dylan. my best friend since we were 6. The only guy I can act completely a fool around and know that it doesn't matter because he will act completely a fool too so I won't feel alone. But before I go on let me describe hailey, Dylan, and I. Hailey Smith is the greatest best friend you could ever ask for. She's smart, she doesn't follow the crowd, she's her own person, she's a pretty girl with brown hair and brownish-green eyes. She's never afraid to call me out on stupid things that I do and believe me I can do some stupid things like with the whole Cody thing and Zack thing but that's later on. Then there's Dylan Ray Boyd. Like I said Dylan has been my best friend since we were 6. I know everything about him and he knows everything about me. People say that our friendship shouldn't be friendship it should be a relationship since we are so close almost inseparable. We both have to get the other's opinion on everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. He's about 5-9 with brown hair and beautiful brown eyes he's the sweetest, most caring, and respectful guy you will ever meet. He's one that will give you a hug just because he feels like you need a hug. Eventhough he's not athletic he's still strong. He's a great guitar player and to be honest I've been in love with him since 8th grade. Now for me. I'm mainly just one who will listen and try to help you with whatever problem you have. But if you want my honest opinion then you have to be able to take criticism well because I'm a brutally honest person. I'm 5-3 with blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm a caring person and I don't get mad easily. Like I've said I have great best friends. Hailey is always there for me just like Dylan is. Also like ive said I've been in love with Dylan since 8th grade. You might be wondering well why haven't you done anything about it? Simple. I was too afraid to tell him. Too afraid to tell my best friend in the whole world that I, Holly Stevens, was completely in love with him. Am I wrong for not telling him? I'd like to think so until I did tell him. I would tell you what happened after that but why ruin a good story? Hmmm?
My story begins like any other day. I get up, eat breakfast, get ready for school, go to school, wait for the bell to ring, and go home. Simple, right? But today was different. Today, I fell in love with another guy who I'd known since 5th grade. Yeah yeah I know you're probably asking how can you be in love with two guys? Well I don't know but it happened. I was walking down the hall to get to my anatomy class with Dylan and someone just wraps their arms around me in a big bearhug and squeezes me. I turn around and see Zack McGee standing there with that silly yet adorable grin on his face. Now before I continue I should tell more about Zack. Zack is about 5-7 with brown hair and brown eyes. He's athletic even though he doesn't look like it. He's a great guy to be around, he's funny, smart, and caring. If you haven't guessed yet Zack is the other guy I fell in love with, the one I'd known since 5th grade.
When I saw that grin on Zack's face and that "innocent" look in his eyes I knew it was him. Of course who else could it have been to give me a bearhug. I slapped Zack's arm and asked,"Zack why did you do that?" Zack looked at me with a fake hurt expression and asked,"Do what?" very innocently. I looked over at Dylan who was laughing and shaking his head and then back at Zack who was laughing too. I gave both of them a playful glare and said,"it's not funny. Now come on before we are late for Mrs. Calvert's class. I don't want to have to get a tardy." We get in Mrs. Calvert's room and sit down just as the bell rings. Unfortunately there was a test in her room today so not a lot of talking was going on. While I'm taking my test I keep looking over to where Zack and Dylan are and I see Zack looking at me and he smiles at me. I look away and blush thinking does Zack like me or is he just being nice? I look over again but Zack is back to working on his test and I look over at Dylan and he looks up and does the same thing Zack did. I blush and look away again thinking how can I like both of them? Why can't this be easier? I finish my test and turn it in and get my phone out but hide it so Mrs. Calvert won't see it and see a text from Zack saying: what r u doing tonight? My heart starts beating fast as a bunch of possible reasons to why he was asking me that came rushing in my head along with possible excuses I could give him. But I text him back saying: I'm not doing anything tonight y do u ask? I look over at him and he looks at his phone then back at me and smiles and winks. A few seconds later I get another message from him saying: do you want to do something tonight? I stare at the message for what seemed like forever thinking is this really happening? Is Zack really asking me out? Just then I get another message but from Dylan asking if I wanted to come and hang out with tonight? Now I felt torn. Who do I choose? Dylan, my absolute best friend who I've been in love with since 8th grade or Zack, who I've been friends with since 5th grade who I fell in love?
Normally I would choose Dylan in a heartbeat. But this decision was tough. I didn't know what to tell either one. So I just sent them both the same message saying: I'll tell you around 4 bc idk what all I have to do when i get home. They both sent me back an ok. The bell rang to go to 5th period and I said goodbye to Dylan and Zack and walked with my best friend Hailey and told her everything that happened today. Hailey said,"Ok I'm so coming over to your house today so we can talk more about this but you know who I think you should choose but it is up to you. All I can do is try to help you see the good and bad." I jokingly roll my eyes and say,"Gee thanks Hailey. That's a lot of help." Hailey rolled her eyes jokingly and said,"I'm just trying to help you make the right choice even though you've liked Dylan way longer." We get in 5th period, which is English, and of course we don't do anything in there because Mrs. Adams is a little ditsy. 5th period went along and the bell rang. I got up and got my stuff and went to my locker with Hailey still talking about who to choose when Dylan came up behind me. I turned around and jumped because I didn't expect to see him behind me. He laughed and said,"Do you think we could hang out another time? I just found out that a girl that I like likes me too and I want to get to know her some more. You don't mind do you?" he asked with a concerned voice. I looked at him trying to hide my hurt expression and lied,"No I don't mind. I can probably find someone else to hang out with." He smiled and gave me a huge hug and said,"Thank you so much! You are the greatest best friend ever!" He left and I turned to Hailey and Hailey said,"Well looks like you don't have to choose now." I look at her and say,"Gee thanks Sherlock, ya think?" in a sarcastic voice. Hailey rolls her eyes and says,"Yeah yeah just go find Zack ok?"
