Don't worry! I'm still continuing Falling Into Pieces, but I wanted to write something new. I hope you like it. It isn't much different than any of my other stories I've written, but I really hope you'll like it haha. Please give feedback. Thanks -------------------------------------------- I was surprised when she approached me. She walked across the school courtyard over to me and she smiled gently and introduced herself. "Hi my name is Cassandra Owen!" She was rather plain looking with short brown hair and blue eyes that were hidden behind thick rimmed glasses. I smiled back. "Leighton Hall." "Nice to meet you," she said and she grinned. "I'm new to this school. Second year. I received a scholarship from my old school to attend this, so I'm not as well off as the rest of the students here," she admitted. "I'm not either," I said quietly. "What?" "Miss Owen!" shouted a high pitched voice. I noticed the girl cringe at the sound of the voice. She turned around to face her caller. Her caller was student council president, Natalie Moroz. "Yes?" "Please come here Miss Owen. How dare you leave the council office like that. We were going to give you a tour of the school!" "I'm sorry," said Cassandra and she went over. "Miss Owen," began Natalie. She spoke quietly but loud enough for me to hear. "I would advise you not to be in contact with Miss Hall." "Why not?" "You know the company owned by Cross?" "Cross Financial?" "Yes. Well anyways, her father happens to be the executive director, Nathan Cross. Everyone here is out of her league." "Isn't he a little young to have a sixteen year old daughter?" "We'll he's not her biological father." "Oh I see." Nathan Cross. He was the young CEO of a financial company. I was his so-called daughter. He wasn't my father. He was my mother's boyfriend and when before she passed away she asked him if he would take care of me and he agreed. What bothered me most was that he was closer in age to me than my mother. He is nine years older than me. My mother was fourteen years older than him. I met him five years ago. And since my mother's death a year after, I have been living with him for four years. I hate it... "She's lucky to have that kind of man in her life," said Cassandra. "She is. And it's so obvious that she thinks the same. She's always all over him," said Natalie. All over him? I hated him. I hated when people thought that he meant something to me. I was miserable in this life and hated him for getting my mother involved. She and I lived a normal life before she met him. "Really?" "Yeah. It's really irritating actually." "Shut up," I said and I stood up. "You don't understand anything. Stop spreading rumors about me that aren't true. It's so fucking annoying," I said and I turned away and left. "Excuse me?!" She called after me. "Just because your father is someone important doesn't mean you are! Don't be so head strong just because your daddy's a little rich!" I turned around and looked at her again. "I thought I told you to shut up. I could care less about my father. Why don't you go and tell that to everyone. Get the facts straight this time." I smiled when I saw her face. She looked really pissed. I knew some more rumors would start around my school. Maybe Nathan's reputation would get worse just a bit. But like I had said. I could care less, and that was the truth.
