For a while now, I've been seeing how a lot of people complaining how shitty forums are compared to forums years ago. Yes, I've also seen the decline in forums content posted. And as far as we're concerned, I don't like it either. As I've said before, the problem is pretty much the research and information put inside the thread. And not a lot of people posting on forums are putting enough to keep the reading interested. Now, I'm no 2010 player who says that this new generation of players are complete shit, but I've been here for awhile. I've seen things and done things. Horrible things. Just kidding. Maybe. But, I want to show you a thread from a year or so ago done by me. (Because in pretty sure not many other people have old threads in their notes) .-. Forever Alone. I don't want you to really read the whole thing, but to just skim it to get what I'm saying. The post was an ad for the club, The Black Pearl when Captain-Jack-Sparrow had come back after being banned the first time. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> I'm bored so enjoy. >.> <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> We're the heart for the heartless, the thoughts for the thoughtless, the lies for the honest We're the gods of the godless! <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Welcome to the tale of The-Black-Pearl.. We'll start with the Captain, Captain-Jack-Sparrow. As it says in his name, he is the captain of the ship. Without him, all would be lost. A ship without a captain is like a computer without Internet. Now, when the pirate crew first started, the first person to join the crew was none other than Hermes. Then, after many days and nights, the pirate crew increased and became well known. Many started to fear The-Black-Pearl and it's pirate crew. But then, the fear turned to hate. And thus, war was declared shortly after. The NIGHT ASSAILANTS attacked while we defended. Many lives were lost. But it seems that the crew was untouched as if they were protected. Aye.. As Captain-Jack-Sparrow barked his orders, a strange ship came into view. As Danzo bellowed the call to arms from above the mast, the mysterious ship came into view. It looked to us as a passenger ship, just passing by. But then we were deceived when their cannons drawn out. Soon after, an open sea battle commenced with cannon fire and gunfire. As we prepared to bored the enemy ship, -UI-Sasuke_Uchiha told me that the treasure on the other ship is ours. I replied "If there is treasure." We then proceeded to board the enemy vessel. Once we arrived, all was in chaos already as we saw many of our crew mates already in battle. We joined the fight soon afterwards and slew a hundred men down each. After what seemed like hours, we eventually won. We looted the ship and found 3 chests of gold and jewelry. Sasuke was right. The treasure was ours. We did accomplish another feat in our travels and we will accomplish more. We decided to land in the nearest port for supplies. As soon as we landed, we were greeted my the smell of alcohol and rum. We knew what we wanted and that's what we'll get. We recruited more pirates such as I-Love-Oreo-Pie and JustIn-Credible. The way they proved themselves was an amazing show as they proved their might against -AC-Croissant, making him submit quickly and efficiently. Not long afterward, soldiers of the country arrived in port and another battle ensued between the two sides. With us pirates being forced to flee on our vessel, we have achieved two new recruits and many supplies, so we continue our journey. Many days later, a mysterious ship appeared by our side. Captain-Jack-Sparrow knew who it was. The captain turned out to be none other than Buddy100and1. It seemed that the two were friends at one point and still are to this day. They each agreed to set sail together once more for one final adventure. As years passed, we finally saw something that we could not believe that would not exist. A dragon. Never in all my life did not believe I would see a dragon. It looks like my crew mates share the same feelings as I did. The dragon seemed to speak to us, saying "My name is -SIN-McMuffinMan. What are your reasons for trespassing these waters?" At first, all was silent, then the captain spoke. "We are here on our own terms. If you do not let us pass, war shall be declared." After the captain spoke, many of us shouted in agreement. The dragons reply was, "So be it." We managed to defeat it after what seemed like forever, but with a price. We saw our own comrades go down with one image burned into our heads: Among the dead were Buddy100and1 pirates as well as a few of our own. We've had no time for grief, so we decided to sail on ahead and find a port to land in. Many weeks later, a port came into view. We pulled in and were greeted by strangers this time. It seems that this is a town controlled by pirates. We were safe, but for how long. Then what seemed like a fortune teller approached us. She told us that her name was Azarah and that she would like us to follow her. So we did and we chatted for what seemed like days I'm the form of hours. Finally, we finished with an interesting note. "I will join you on your travels for a short time." And so, we left the port with more supplies and more recruits, becoming ever so stronger. We sailed eastward this time. And with ease. With days passing by, and pirate sea battles ensuing, not a day goes by that's normal. One day we decided to sing songs and have party's. The song the stuck out the most was sung by Husky_Wolf. His lyrics were mesmerizing by the way he sung. It went on like this: "Give me the dust of my father Stand on the face of the ancients Bare all the secret flesh of time itself Follow me I've come so far, I’m behind again Follow me I wish so hard I'm there again Follow me, follow me All that I wanted were things I had before All that I needed, I never needed more All of my questions were answers to my sins All of my endings are waiting to begin I know the way but I falter I can't be afraid of my patience There's a sacred place, Razel keeps safe Follow me I've seen so much, I'm blind again Follow me I feel so bad, I'm alive again Follow me All that I wanted were things I had before All that I needed, I never needed more All of my questions were answers to my sins And all of my endings are waiting to begin.." After that, we turned in for the night and continued sailing peacefully. Days later, another pirate ship sailed beside us. They did not show any signs of a threat. Azarah told us this would happen. She said her goodbyes to us and boarded the mysterious ship. Then all of a sudden, the ship vanished before our eyes. We continued on, puzzled at what we witnessed. Then, to our utmost surprise, we saw what we after, The Golden Hind. We gave chase and caught up. With cannons ready, we opened fire and they returned. We boarded them and they boarded us. Battles were being fought on both ships. As Sasuke and I were fighting side by side, I saw the captains fighting each other. The fog rolled in and no one could see the captains fight, but we all heard it. Then suddenly, all became quiet. And as we waited to see what happened next, Captain-Jack-Sparrow emerged from the fog. We won. Our entire crew cheered. We did it. We won. And not a single soul lost. We're undead pirates and we are the strongest pirates in the 7 seas. Fifteen men on the dead man's chest Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum! Drink and the devil had done for the rest Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum! <><><><><><><><><><><><><> Last picture is pretty fucked up still. I don't wanna change it. But I hope you get the idea of what some threads pertained a year or so ago. And I won't deny that there were some pretty shitty threads back then too. Yeah, we had our own trollers, spammers and noobs. But we had more quality threads than now or as I've heard, before I even started this app. Woo 2010'ers. The whole point of this thread is if people had actually put a little time and effort into threads, forums would actually be a little more interesting. Shout out to [insert your name here] because I can. Feel free to include stuff related to this thread. Like any other problems you see in today's forums, what else there was back then. Or if your an elderly player, you can tell us noobs off. Be old and shit.
All message boards end up the same. Some faster than others. Plus this is a small community so originalism and quality is hard to find.
2014 trollers make no sense and keep repeating the same thing, they have no styles. If you want to troll, atleast do it properly.
Maybe cause every little peep squeak that posts a reply tries to 'troll' OP of the thread, so no point.
People wouldn't reply with shit in threads. I can't see a single thread without wannabe trollers trying to mess up a thread. Also, there no serious thread, all you see is crappy thread such as Title:Lol Content:#Yoloswag2014 What the fuck is that suppose to mean?
It's different from modern day threads because people put legitimate effort into it. The most effort that touches forums these days is Wolf's comics. To be completely honest they're the only good threads in forums 98% of the time.
