The Crow- Redemption Be Thy Name

Discussion in 'Fan Fiction' started by Satans_Crow, Jul 5, 2015.

  1. Hey everyone! Sorry for not posting for months, but I hit a rough patch in my life that I needed to sort out. But I've finally begun writing the fanfic I've been promising for a while now, so please enjoy 

    Chapter One- Redeeming Light

"You know Drake, for someone who doesn't need sleep, you sleep a long time."
I wake up in total darkness with a jolt, a cold sweat beginning on my forehead and a pain in my ribcage as though I hadn't had a breath in ages. I look around, but can't see a single thing before me. Before long, I realized I couldn't FEEL anything either. I pressed my hand against whatever I had been laying on... If I could, anyways. My hand sunk through, as though I sat on air. I looked around once again, and this time saw a shape in the darkness. A shape that, as I watched it, it grew larger.
    "What the..."
That's when I realized another thing. My ribcage hurting like I wasn't breathing? Here's the thing... I wasn't. I threw a hand to my chest and clutched it, and felt multiple ribs cracked and broken, some puncturing my chest.
    "I see you're awake, Drake."
I looked up, and saw the shape of a black bird, a crow, looking at me in the pitch black, it's eyes seemingly darker than even the darkness that enveloped me.
"What are you? How do you know my name?"
"There are more pressing matters to discuss, Drake."
The crow took a few steps closer before hopping onto my leg to look me dead in the eye.
"Don't you want to enact revenge on the ones who did this to you? To your wife and kids? Don't you want redemption for doing nothing?"
    "I... I don't understand... I don't..."
And then it all came flooding back to me.

  2. No one likes you pie

  3. This isn't even an rp V_V

  4. So I have started work on the next chapter, however this one might take a while, as it is more full-length unlike the first. I should have it done by next week however.

  5. Sorry for how long it took to update. Took a while for me to figure out the way I wanted to phrase everything. Chapter three should take a shorter amount of time. Anyways, enjoy.

Chapter Two- Redeeming Light Part 2

"Come on you two! We're going to be late!"
My son rushed towards the door, excitement all over his face. He was only six, and we were going to see the new Batman movie. Ever since I introduced him to Batman, he has been a fan. Even dressed up as him for Halloween the previous year. Sometimes, he puts that costume on and begins "fighting crime" with me as his Robin.

A few seconds later, my seventeen year old daughter came in from her room without saying a word, hands in her hoodie pockets.
"Go wait in the car with your mom for a minute, alright, Dillon?"
My son nodded, smiling up at me before heading out the door and rushing to his mother. I turned to my daughter, a stern yet gentle look on my face. "You could at least pretend to be excited. Your brother has been waiting for this since the trailer came out." My daughter sighed as she rolled her eyes at me. "It's stupid and unrealistic. No billionaire would waste his time taking down even less realistic bad guys." I open up the front door and begin to walk out. "Just hurry up, ok? We still have to head to the bank first."

The bank was a ten minute drive away. The roads at this time of day were usually fairly empty, so it took no time at all to get there. From there, it would take another five minutes to get to the movie theatre. I stopped the car in front of the bank, and we all got out. I didn't trust anyone to stay in the car and risk it getting stolen with everyone inside, especially in this neighborhood. We started walking up to the concrete building, one that my daughter would joke is almost as old as me. It was fairly big, but nothing compared to banks you'd see in heist movies, and nothing like you'd see in Gotham. Once inside, we stood in line that was approximately 20 people long.

"I told you we should have left sooner." Yes. My wife was that kind of woman. The one that was always right about everything, but she really was. There has never been a time when she wasn't right, and I sometimes wish that wasn't the case, but I love her for it. "It's fine," I told her. "We'll still make it to the movie in time." But of course, I was always the one that was wrong. Gunshots rang out ahead of us, as five men started yelling at everyone to get down, just like in a movie. I saw a couple people fall down before everyone else, but unwillingly as I saw blood start to stain their clothes. My wife and I pulled our daughter and son down to the floor, making sure to not make eye contact or do anything to stand out.

"Alright, listen up! All of you are to walk up to this nice lady at the counter here, withdraw all the money from your bank accounts, and hand it all over to us. That clear!?" They couldn't have been more than 25. The one doing the talking was obviously their leader, saw himself as being high and mighty. There were four others with him, keeping watch over those of us who were waiting our turns to be robbed. Only one really had much muscle, but no one would argue with the guns they held.

"Alright, next!" A man walked up to the counter, encouraged by the gun pressed against his back. "Please... I don't have much money... My wife just left me last month, and took our house-" The burlier man hit him in the back of the head with the butt of his gun, causing the man to cry out in pain. "We ain't got time for sap stories, do we, boss?" The leader smiled as he lifted his gun at the man's head. "No, no we don't."
