  1. SORORITIES!!!!!

You know em: Kappa Delta, Phi Mu, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta etc.

You may hate em, but I love them and for the longest time I've been obsessed with the thought of joining a sorority.

One problem, I pretty much know nothing about sororities. I mean I have some general knowledge.

I imagine it kind of being like GREEK

Or any number of dramatic backstabbing, heartwrenching, romantic, and party filled nonsensical Teen Sitcoms.

Okay okay, I've been watching too much ABC family... Clearly.

    BUT I MEAN ITS COLLEGE!!!!

It's beer pong, it's girls in thongs, it's endless nights, and hangovers in the morning, and.... I've been listening to too much Asher Roth (But I hope I love college as much as he does).

    Moving On!

Sororities are sisterhoods. They're a place of bonding, meeting new people, making memories, establishing life long connections, getting involved and lots of philanthropy.

    All for a reasonable price.

Some call it buying your friends...

But in all honesty when you see where the money goes to like housing, food, events, socials, projects etc. you're not really buying anyone. It's like college tuition, but you wouldn't call paying your room and board "buying your friends"

There are also tons of Stereotypes that come with different sororities like where I come from (Down South) Kappa Delta is the Queen Sorority. They are the ultra southern belles who will likely marry the perfect southern and go one to live enviously perfect lives all in the name of their Lord and Savior (Amen).

On the flip side, Tri Delta (Delta Delta Delta) has managed to garner a not so pleasant saying "Try Delta, everyone else has." (Wink wink). And I highly doubt that's true since I know some amazing girls in Tri Delta and they are NOT like that.

And Phi Mu is full of Hermione Granger's. They're great girls, incredibly intelligent (which honestly all sororities are full of intelligent women because they strive for greatness) but Phi Mu is known for their grades predominantly and not really much else.

So what are sororities girls like?

Stereotypically: They're kind of stuck up. Barbie dolls? Monogrammed Everything. Very Preppy. Extremely Beautiful. Catty. Backstabbing.

In Reality: Sororities sisters can be the very best people you will ever meet. They're charming, kind, friendly, caring, intelligent, funny, and flat out amazing. (but the monogrammed everything is pretty on point)

So what's your take on sororities? Love em? Hate em? Have you ever been in one? What was your rush experience like? What's your take on college? What was/is your college experience like?
