  1. NIAGARA FALLS

So my family and I went to Niagara Falls recently and I thought it was pretty amazing. Yes the town was old as fuck on the American side, and the hotel we stayed in was meh, but I don't regret going.

Here's a summary of my trip there:

My family I flew to Niagara. The flight was at 7am, with one stop in Atlanta with a 45 minute layover.  45 minutes sounds like a lot of time but as we later found out it's really not.

The first flight was pretty smooth considering I slept the entire time. Unfortunately when we arrived in Atlanta out plane was delayed from unloading because someone was in our gate. The service people were so rude about it as well, like they didn't even care  Long story short we missed our next flight and had to wait 7 hours until we finally found a flight that had enough seats available. We were mad pissed by then.

    
Now with that sourness out of the way. Here's what I saw in Niagara.

Niagara Falls is technically a collective name for three falls between Canada and the United States. There's the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, and the Bridal Veil Falls. These three falls from the end of the Niagara Gorge.

The American Falls is the first waterfall that I saw. You can view it on the American side in New York at Niagara Falls State Park.

The Horseshoe Falls is the largest, most magnificent, and the mistiest waterfall of the three. It can be viewed fully at the Horseshoe Falls Trail. It lies mostly on the Canadian side but it does curve around to the American side hence the name "Horseshoe."

Bridal Veil falls on the American Side but since it's the smallest no one really comes to Niagara dying to look at it. I only got a look at it when I rode the Maid of the Mist

Bridal Veils is right next to the American Falls, blink and you'll probably miss it, or you'll mistake it for part of the American Falls. There's a better view on the Canadian side.

It's the really tiny sliver of water falling next to the big one

Goat Island: Pretty insignificant scenic wise. To me it's just a gateway to things I actually want to see like the Cave of Winds, Horseshoe Falls, and Three Sisters Island.

Three Sisters Island: A chain of islands accessible from Goat Island. The islands are connected by a bridge for people to walk between them and view the amazing rapids.

White water rapids: They're much better when you're on a jetboat speeding across them. But if you're into the outdoors like me you'll appreciate just looking at them

Whirlpool: Extremely Lackluster. I expected something that looked like a toilet bowl flushing... This is all I got.

Best Attractions:

Maid of the Mist: If you're not going to do anything else while there go on the Maid of the Mist. It's the famous cruise attraction. I think I bought a ton of crappy souvenirs from their gift shop for no reason. #NoRegrets The cruise takes you in front of the three falls and it's such a smooth ride. I mean til you get closer to Horseshoe and everything's Misty and your being splashed with water. But that's fun part! Great place for pictures :D

Cave of Winds: Located on Goat Island the Cave of Winds takes you closer to the Falls than you could ever imagine. You're right in front of it and if you go up to the Hurricane Desk you're literally beneath it getting rocked by waves of water thundering over you and thrashing into you. It's really the best part. You get soaked from head to toe, nothing else like it.

Whirlpool Jet Boat: It's a supposedly a tour of the white water rapids of Niagara but I honestly think it's just a fun ride. You get soaking wet and it's incredibly fast. You're basically one with the water and it is a blast.

 And that's my Vaca summed up in a neat package!

Tell me about some of your recent trips!
