  1. So I’m considering getting a tattoo on my right side (on my ribs, under my breast) and I’m worried that it’s gonna be painful as heck? It’s not my first tattoo so hopefully I know what to expect, but does anyone have any aftercare tips and any idea of how much it’s going to hurt?
I have a very low pain tolerance, help me out 

P.s. it’s script, not a whole design, if that helps!

  2. If you have a low pain tolerance, it’s going to hurt a lot. The side is like pretty sensitive and will be irritated from the needle going in and out of it repeatedly.
Idk about after care stuff, but I know people have to keep that plastic wrap on it for a few days and some even refrain from touching it in that span of time.

  3. The ribs are one of the most painful areas to get tattooed, from what I've read by tattoo artists.

Your tattoo artist should provide to you all of the aftercare tips required. Follow these tips to a T if you don't want an infection and want the tattoo to last.

Before you get the tattoo, make sure you have a good night's sleep, a full stomach, and are quite hydrated (take a bathroom break beforehand too). If you don't, it increases the chances of you probably passing out on the table.

  4. Don’t get a tattoo, get battle scars from life and use those as your tattoos

  5. I have plenty and they’re really not tattoos.

  6. Scarification would probably be way more painful than a rib tat.

  7. Hardcore. I’m still getting the tat tho, lol

  8. Tattoo over bones are the most painful, Goodluck! A good tattoo artist will give you the best aftercare tips and instructions! Some even give you an oil to take home!

  9. In my experience, it hurt like heck. The closer to the boob, the more it hurt, too. Also, not laughing was a problem. ? Because for some reason that is how I handle pain, so I had a real problem keeping still enough for that one. It's also the only one I have that's outline has totally blurred. Idk if its because of the area or the fact that he couldn't use the pressure he should have. The cover up is probably gonna hurt hella. ?

  10. Ribcage is like one of the most sensitive areas. Good luck.

Also, this is what I got from my tattoo artist, hope this helps.

  11. If it's just script it will be fairly fast. But yeah, you gonna be hurtin.

Ask your tattoo artist if they have saniderm. In my experience the tattoos my artists have used it with heal the fastest with minimal scabbing

  12. Thank you! That’s the first I’ve heard of it, so I’ll be sure to ask when I do?

  13. I suggest not wearing any tight clothing or a bra until it’s healed a bit too, plan on doing it when you don’t have to look professional for a week or so ️ good luck

  14. Ahhh thanks! I’ve heard that tight clothes can be bad, didn’t know what to do about the bra though. Much appreciated️

  15. Its gonna hurt so much you're gonna feel like you're giving birth to the anti-christ while being hit by a train.

  16. I have both scarification and tattoos, and can confirm my scarification on my arm hurt more than my rib tat lol

  17. .. this is a little extra. The pain will feel centralized to your ribs. So it’s just going to be a strong, throbbing area of pain. Idk about giving birth to any antichrists but depending on your pain tolerance maybe the train part will apply 

  18. You're allowed to ask your artist to take breaks every so often if the pain's too much. Isn't much you can do in terms of pain since you're not allowed to be on medications or drugs while it happens. Chat with the artist to distract yourself.

Also! If it gets itchy while healing, slap the area lightly. That way it relieves some of the pain but you don't end up actually scratching

  19. out of curiosity, what are you getting tattooed?
