[Support] Cancer Research

  1. ...or not.

what is the point of bringing these to forums? You wanna bring awareness when the truth is you're just so giddy that you're getting a 5+ page support on your "cause"?

Poorly researched crap (I got my info from wikipedia!) and all under the guise of doing something good for the world when all you want is attention.

Gathering support on forums is just like gathering likes on facebook. IT DOES NOTHING.

And I wonder how many of you do actual charity even? No, sending in money to whatever organization DOES NOT count because who knows where that money goes.

I would have respected a thread that did actual research on numbers and educated people to bring awareness. Not gathering shit support.

  2. Ugh....he's back.

  3. No one likes you and your noob ass, Legolas.

  4. Gathering support has lead to pimd making a charity event before

  5. Where does that money go I wonder?

  6. Then email ATA and ask what they did with the $50,541.52 lol.

  7. If you don't like threads like those, don't bitch and moan about it. If you want to know what happened with the charity money, email ATA.

  8. Making support threads does nothing. NOTHING.

  9. So what was the purpose of making this thread, using a headline like that? lol

  10. It raises awareness, like ALS. PimD or anywhere else. It also shows people actually care about cancer and want to do something about it.

  11. And what do they do?

  12. I have to agree with Satire, its pretty pathetic if you try to raise awareness about cancer or whatever on a game where, in the end, no one really gives a ****. I applaud those who do care, but seriously who plays a game and WANTS to see cancer awareness stuff all over the place?

  13. Some actually donate to support research, others try to raise awareness.

  14. @ShadesOfBread

It's not all over the place. I've seen maybe like 2 or 3 threads in the past week or 2 about it.

I'm going to get off the game now because I'm not going to argue over this anymore.

  15. I don't mind a thread about awareness but I mind support threads because money is an issue unless you go straight to the places that need it and donate there.

I'd prefer well informed threads on these topics to actually give awareness and maybe even a proper set of actions on how you can help instead of just donating money.

Go to an actual charity and help out

  16. Has a point anybody can say support but it takes someone who actually cares to go out an do it so in a sense support threads on rl topics are kind of pointless

  17. I once jogged 10 miles for breast cancer does that count?

  18. I wrote one of those threads I'd get offended by this but you're entitled to your opinion.
It has happened before I don't regret nor will I ask them to remove my forum.
I've seen people day who gives a shit, I do. So do several others.
Yes. I can donate on my own, that's easy. Raising awareness and having other people support which could potentially increase anything I could donate on my own is worth it.
Yes, I went to wikipedia for information, its not a research paper. I'm not asking you to grade a paper, I'm asking you to either lend your support or not too.
Its in some part of the world a lot of people have dismissed, sure. What happens when/if it moves beyond just Africa as it already has to the US? when/If it moves on from the US to your own countries?
Some of you may not care, I'm asking those that do to simply write support on my thread and drum up enough support that ata agrees to step in and help.
I could donate $100 but if ata did get behind the cause that could be potentially hundreds if not thousands more.

  19. Did I say people shouldn't care? :p

And how can they help if you provide information from wikipedia? That's terrible lol. Anyone can make up numbers in wikipedia. Why didn't you choose the actual red cross website or something? News reports. Actual reports.

You don't need "support" you need awareness. And you pop in your thread thanking everyone for support and bumping it. It's all attention.
