  1. Yeah, I'm well aware that it's not suicide awareness month but why should a serious topic only be brought up for a month every year. People commit suicide daily and it should be talked about more. Most people don't know who to talk to or who to turn to in fear they'll be judged, or have what they've said leaked to people.
Suicide is no joke and it's only a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I'm going to leave a few numbers you can call if you want to talk to someone anonymously. Also if you want you can send me a follow and I'll gladly talk to you, no matter what you've done, who you are, life is way too short to be depressed and angry.

  2. I'd like to apologise for any grammar mistakes you may come across.

  3. This is nice of you ig. I don’t really believe those hotlines prevent any suicides, but I'm sure it's good for ppl who are just depressed

  4. Just having someone there to listen can change the action of someone who is thinking about ending their lives.

  5. It is Mental Health Awareness Month!

Which coincides with this. Thank you for posting ?

  6. Agreed that sometimes talking about it helps! Thanks for posting 

  7. No problem, if you know anyone suffering from depression please act you never know what their intentions are.

  8. I lost my husband a year ago to this. I have personally, very recently, felt that way myself. Life gets extremely tough. Any people who have anxiety about calling the numbers should most definitely message O.P. Your_Mom, myself, anyone who offers here, or SOMEONE. Even if you don't want to go into detail, it really helps ground you. It's easy to do, and it is a permanent solution.. that never stops hurting the ones you leave behind. And there are so many more than you think. The pain never goes away. The world keeps turning so you gotta keep living but the pain is just easier to bottle away. It's still the same pain. Please talk to someone. You're worth so much more than you think.

  9. ?? What

  10. It's also Sexual Assault Awareness month.

  11. If you google it (I know that sounds horrid) May is both of these and quite a lot of other things too! I never realized how many there are

  12. There really is a lot of awareness issues, which is good because it shouldn't be swept under the rug. By going untreated, it causes more problems in the long run. I know, unfortunately, due to experience.

  13. We are aware already. How about you do something to make actual help affordable op.

  14. I'm sorry for your loss.

  15. That’s kind of an dumb thing to say. That’s like saying “we know kids need to be adopted why doesn’t someone just build them all houses”

Some people aren’t aware, or they’re simply ignorant. You’re telling me every single 13 year old and above on this whole earth knows? I doubt that. && from personal experience sometimes in the middle of a break down you forget that there is help. You forget there’s hotlines and friends and family. So this could have actually helped someone.

  16. If someone wants to kill themself some random stranger over the phone is not going to change their mind. But it's a nice sentiment

  17. I find suicide hotlines work more for venting or unloading stress. I would never use it if I was going to commit suicide but if I became overwhelmed because of my depression and things that's when I would use it tbh.

I've heard of people actually using suicide hotlines though when they were feeling suicidal and it working.

  18. The first part - yes that's what i was thinking. It's more for people who are depressed and really upset.

To second part, I don't think someone who seriously wanted to commit suicide would ever call in the first place. People who are serious about it don't tell ppl because they don't want to be stopped. Someone who calls a suicide hotline is trying to be stopped/trying to vent. I'm not saying whatever they're going through isn't serious since maybe if people weren't there for them to vent to they might kill themselves, but for someone who has already decided those hotlines do nothing.

  19. Hotlines are a way out of having actual help established to be honest. People think they help these people but they don’t. Hey let’s dump these poor people on a phone call instead of getting them actual help or making it even accessible. Problem solved.
