Hi, Im Nikki. I just moved to NorCal from Las Vegas, Nevada. Im 5'3, hazel eyes, light brown hair, 14 and going into high school as a freshman. Let me tell you how my life in California went. First Day of School I looked around as everyone ran to each other screaming and hugging their friends from middle school. I looked back at my mom who waved at me as she drove away leaving me at a school with nobody I know. I walked nearly 5 times around the school until I found the room where I was suppose to pick up my schedule. I looked at my schedule: 0 Period - Free period 1 Period - Geography- L15 2 Period - Biology - E14 3 Period - PE - Gym 4 Period - Honor Geometry - C9 5 Period - Honor English - D5 6 Period - Drawing - A1 Not bad, I wasn't hoping for any honor classes though. I looked at my phone for the time "8:10" I still have time till the first bell, might as well walk around exploring and finding my classrooms. I found all my classes except for my biology class. I found the E building but that building is huge so I couldn't find the room without getting lost. Ugh and it's my second class too. first bell rings Theres the first bell.. "Welcome to freshman year Nikki" I said to myself as I walk to my first class... Geography. --------------------------------- Please tell me how you like it so far before I continue Its my first story so please be nice!
Never use emoji. Just say "The first bell rang calling me to my first class." And it's okay. Nothing extraordinary. Don't describe your character right away, describe her throughout the story next time. All at once is just not proper. Use more detail. And last but not least...DO NOT MAKE IT A HIGH SCHOOL ROMANCE!!! That is all.
I agree with Adam about everything except what your story's about. That's your choice, and I don't care what you make it about. Unless you decide to copy someone or make the plot so foolishly ridiculous no one wants to read it.
