I personally don't go through depression but I heard counting your blessings/showing gratitude makes you see the happier side in life ?
Well, i cope with it in a not so healthy way honestly. I use alcohol, drugs and self harm. Or i'll just completely isolate myself and ruin all my friendships on purpose, So that's not what to do when you're depressed @ whoever's reading this looking for something to ease their minds.
Doesn't work  i show gratitude towards my parents a lot for what they do for me and as you can imagine, they do A LOT for me. And guess what? i'm still depressed.
• Don't bottle your feelings • Talk to people (friends/family/therapist/etc.) • Coping strategies • Nature/being outside • Pick up a hobby • Exercise • Pets • Writing/Journaling • Etc.?️
Well I try to be optimistic and force myself to look at the brighter side and if there's none I tried to create one like a schizophrenic
I had a friend that went through depression and he said that writing things down in a journal helped whether it was feelings or just thoughts he had.
Going through it myself, it's a hard question to answer. Honestly, exercise and sunshine are helpful, and always keep yourself busy. I was tempted to make a thread about the upcoming wspd on sep 10th for people going through this stuff
Nah it's World suicide prevention day. I'll write it up at some stage either tonight or tomorrow when I get the time. If you have any ideas on what to add to the thread let me know
I dunno about anyone else, but listening to music helps me, and so does meditating. Writing down things do work, just don't bottle up your feelings, that'll make things worse. ? Doing something you really enjoy can brighten up your mood, or talking to certain people.
Similiar to what the others have mentioned, scribbling down thoughts and feelings does help. I usually just let my thoughts flow when I scribble. The sentences don't have to be grammatically correct, etc. Finding distractions helps too. Find things to occupy your time as much possible (e.g. shows). That leaves less time to overthink ?
