Sup pipols. I joined for quite awhile hopping in from time to time. Just penning down some thoughts here. RPs are boring. The themes sound nice at first, but the content wise... I just feel like most Rp will just have loads of small 'dramas' or actions, but they don't really help progress the story as a whole. After awhile, like 100 pages in, it just turns into things like walking around in a scenario or eating some foods, maybe throw in a pinch of romance. There could be the possibility of something nice going on, and people might wanna join. Maybe it's just me, but I think people don't have the patience to read through 100 pages worth of "-sits beside Mary and hugs her- ", let alone 20. The few people keeping the thing alive might find it boring soon enough because nobody new joins and they can't exactly progress the storyline, leading to the death of the RP where peoplr just end up talking in OOC about why people are so slooow. Just some of my thoughts.
But they aren't set out like books.. Someone doesn't go in a Role Play; Shirley walked out of the crooked door and entered the eery Grave Yard. Looking around, she panicked due to fog forming all around her.. This is what it's like in a Role Play; Shirley; - Walks outside into the Grave Yard and notices fog forming around her - That's what most people do anyways?
Yes, pix, but you can still read them and tell the story. It's still a fictional story, just formatted differently.
And in the chatroom where I learned to roleplay there were actually lots of people who would roleplay like this: ;The girl plucked a few notes on the guitar, blushing.; I'm pretty bad, aren't I?... ;She put the guitar down and stared at the floor.;
Well.. They aren't boring aslong as you choose a unique one with a good set-up and creative people. I have never seen someone Role Play like that before??
Roleplay on pimd compared to role play in forums outside of this realm... Well, pimd roleplay is horrid. I'm with Akiko... Roleplay is done better when people take the time, add detail, and make it more than one or two lines. It's also nice when they stick to the plot and don't make it romance, or random shit that nobody cares to read.
PimD role-play is pretty bad here, in some wats. I admit I'm hypocrital for saying that, but I like role-playing here as its not that serious. I'll role-play else where when I want detailed role-play with proper SPaG and stuff.
