I am so smart. So so so smart. Like, you don't even know how smart. Like, so smart that I went and spent six months writing a short story that could've been done in a week but I'm a perfectionist cuz I'm so smart. And then just to prove how smart I am I went and entered it into a contest, one of the most well-known contests in the world, also known as 'Writers of the Future, ' I had almost no chance of winning but now I have zero chance because it turns out when you enter it's a requirement that it be a .doc and I entered mine with the unallowed .pdf because i am so smart and i need to brag about how smart i am rn. Six months, you guys. Six months. *cries*
Oh damn, I am sorry. Can’t you resubmit with the short story in doc? Perhaps contact them and explain your situation? Honestly they should allow .pdf files.
No, they're very particular about how it's submitted in the rules and quick to disqualify people they get so many (thousands) entries each quarter so the less they have to read, the better.
Thank you qt, your sweetness is better than the $6,500 prize :c is what i'll say to comfort myself anyway.
Well f... Can you at least resubmit the same story next quarter with the proper file format? But who even sends doc files anymore? Pdf is so much better.
Nah, that's another rule. Story cannot have been submitted anywhere before including their own contest. Ig when i am a world-famous author i shall add this short story to my anthology and it will be a humourous joke :c
I'm an over thinker so I can see this happening to me. I would have missed the deadline as a result tbh. I'm sorry you can't resubmit the story you poured so much into
Ty qt. Learn from my mistakes, donut lrt it happen to you. Tbh i missed the first deadline (new years) which was why it took 6 months instead of 3.
I feel self-conscious :c was only gonna show anyone if i won (mostly by force since it gets printed in their magazine).
