I'm planning to start a public roleplay thread of sorts. I've been a veteran in many roleplay communities and I feel PIMD must have its own. No, it need not be a college theme to roleplay. Greek Gods, superheroes, etc. Any fictional characters you'd like. I just need to perform a tally count of how many people are actually interested in roleplaying. Everything else has already been obtained from popular character creators to store your characters in a database to a standard set of rules every Roleplaying community follows. I got this idea thinking about all the other threads out there from the selfie thread to artistic skill being displayed. Personally, I have a penchant for the quill/pen and I love to write stories. Maybe there are other people out here who wish to show case their creative and linguistical abilities on paper. I've got all the tools for that. All I need is people having the same interest. Thinking long term, if this works out, we can have special events having at places where people can participate with their characters in a continuous character/environment interaction format instead of plain stories written by experienced writers. Please, your thoughts and your quills if possible too!

And I believe setting sail into uncharted waters are what makes adventure fun! Those were done using characters specific to that universe. We use any characters that appeal to us and we have multi character stories driven by different people participating in one thread.
All of us have our own character profiles/database (mine spans 7 Google keep notes (I've kept all the characters I've used over time)) which we keep individually as they are characters we created and only use them here and nowhere else. We have a good system here already and we're getting through it our way :3

I play League of Legends, but this isn't a place for that. There's plenty of places specifically designed for that.
This isn't a League of Legends RP, my god. They had a good system in place such as General RP rules and good character creators. We have to borrow the salient features of that and just tailor the rest to our community needs. One other feature I've noticed we can use is a map of the place you tend to RP in to give players a better idea of the place. The League of Legends community are restricted to LoL characters whilst we have absolutely no restrictions whatsoever. Fume is a serial troll and that's what we're trying to do here, create a well established RP world. I've spoken to Apollosymi and I see she has some pretty good ideas too. We're getting somewhere XD And yes, League of Legends is awesome. Thank you all for your support!
Because she probably does you guys don't know the first thing of roleplay or how to even roleplay properly. I'm no expert either but I have done my fair share of roleplay with friends. ACTUAL roleplay. None of this sad highschooler bullshit. I respect you have your own way of doing things but maybe try to broaden your horizons instead of shutting people down right away and making her unwelcome. She had an idea, LISTEN O LEAVE. don't outright put her down.
Well, this discussion has proved to be a success despite Fume's excessive trolling. I've talked to people to create a first ever proper RP with thread moderators and other fun events in place. Besides the fact whether this kind of RP can be accommodated, which I do believe it can be after discussion with some of the more active members of this sub-community( feel free to wall me as I believe everybody has valuable insights regarding an RP event), I wish to know the ability of candidates to participate in said RP. I've initially thought up an Olympus In Ruins RP where every character gets to play a God with certain restrictions. I would like to know how many of you people are able to participate in such an event actively. The duration will be more than a month and each candidate is expected to post once everyday or per two days unless unable to. We plan to include event maps and have thread moderators along with a strict set of RP rules. And more importantly the posts will not be cluttered up due to some extra tools I've got in hand. This RP will be the first of a kind but I need your support to make it happen. How many of you can participate? And active RPers please wall or message for applying for a thread administrator position. I look forward to roleplaying with you guys!
'RP- The Right Way' — geez, pls get over yourself there pal. there's no right or wrong way of role playing, and just because you're accustomed to a certain way or style doesn't necessary mean its correct. it's not definitive. i haven't role played in a while and I've only skim read this thread, but just bc you seemingly have experience and think that you're great doesn't mean anyone else particularly cares. it's a nice idea from one perspective but you might want to get over yourself first and calm down; you're role playing, not sitting a literature exam. let people do their own thing. Rani maybe if you tried to read you would see that I said I'm no expert. But thanks for trying to stand up to me. I respect you for that lmfao and what you guys do is a weak attempt in trying to roleplay. My opinion of roleplay is way different than yours. Whatever makes you happy. And I never said you had to stop doing what you're doing. All I said was you should take the time in listening to what this girl had to say instead of being a load of assholes and totally bringing out your "we don't need you here" attitudes. And if you spent some time away from your phone maybe you'd learn some manners in the real world. This generation pisses me off.
While I appreciate OCs idea, I do have to agree with Rani. The condescending tone in this thread is very hard to read past. There is no right or wrong way to RP, but there is inexperienced and experienced ways. PIMD, as it is, just isn't built for high-quality role-playing. Sure, you can post some nice and original ideas, but the fact is that FF is just too dead and does not attract experienced role players, forget a moderator who actually pays any attention to what's going on here to sticky any helpful guides. It's a wonderful place to start out, but there's a time when people have to move on to other apps and forums that accommodate their growing skills. As for the people starting out, just let them be for the most part. Constructive criticism is okay on some occasions, but for the love of God, don't be so condescending.
