I think everyone likes having more pet options, myself included. The problem is, however, is that there’s way too many categories right now, and it takes forever to get the right upgrade items. Many recent pets require specific feeding or upgrade items that no other pets can use, and the pig is probably the most egregious example. It’s the only animal in its category and requires specific feeding items despite the fact that it can eat pretty much anything IRL. Some categories are also clearly wrong, e.g., including amphibians in the reptile category when amphibians are not reptiles. A problem emerges when the number of drops per box or capsule doesn’t increase proportionately to the increase in categories, which causes the drop rate of items for each category to steadily decrease. Newest players are the hardest hit, since older players had the opportunity to hoard feeding items back when there weren’t so many categories to dilute your drops. To give players a realistic chance of reaching a high pet level, I propose a new categorization scheme for feeding items, something like this: Carnivores: cats, owl, snakes, ferret Herbivores: rabbits, turtle, parrots Omnivores: dogs, pig, crow, rat Insectivores?: frog, axolotl, hedgehog, lizard Omnivores don’t even need their own unique items, and can just consume a mix of items from the other categories instead. Also, please add arachnid pets! I love vinegaroons, and they would neatly fit in the insectivore category.
