Quick Question

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by -_A_-CareBearCrystal, Feb 9, 2018.

  1. I was talking to a friend a while ago, and he asked to watch a movie with me sometime, a movie based on a book. So I have a quick question...

Do you prefer books or movies? And why?

I personally prefer movies since I’m more of a visual person, and movies help with seeing how the director truly wanted it to look. I also don’t have much time to read books for fun these days.

  2. Movies because I don’t have to concentrate as much

  3. Books. Since they’re the original, while movies are only based on them, so they don’t follow the books perfectly and make some plot-holes.

  4. Reading is good for the brain.
TV is bad for the brain.

Also books go into much more detail, and having to visualize the story yourself gives you a better comprehension of the story.

  5. Ooooohh I look like just like Harry Potter ?
    Goddam Hollywood I'm comingggggggg \(◎o◎)/

  6. Ok, so what about movies not based on books??

Another thing to add to my first post. As a thespian, I really enjoy watching how actors act, and how some can get so into their character.

  7. Then movies not based on books are damn great too, since it’d be an original concept (unless it’s based on something else)

  8. I like movies only because I never in a point in my life enjoyed reading books. They say that books are better for you mind and stuff, but movies can teach just as much as books do. And like you, I’m also a more of a visual person.

  9. Should read the ‘A song of Ice and Fire’ novels up till the latest one, if you enjoy game of thrones, they have a good few differences but it’s still a good read.

  10. Books all the way.
But I do enjoy watching the movie versions of the book unless they change it completely

  11. Haven't watched or read any of them ?

  12. I prefer books over films except for the books based off a movie.

  13. Books are good but still i prefer movies as they have visuals & feels better to watch than to read alot :)

  14. I like movies cause I get distracted a lot when I read, the only book I enjoyed the most was "Every Day" by David Levithan, it's coming out in theaters soon and I hope they didn't change it too much. They already changed the character perspective :(

  15. A nice balance of both. I'll watch heaps of movies because they're quick. But will read a book if I think it's worth the time it takes. To me, a book is a real commitment.

  16. Lol, you’ve never watched a movie or read a book?
Relatable, I am also easily distracted!

  17. Books honestly. Also, I'm pretty sure whoever directed Percy Jackson has never read the books.

  18. It depends but I'll more likely go for books because when reading a book, you get to create your own sense of film in your head. Way more exciting

  19. Think Decent is talking about Harry Potter

  20. Plus I tend to fall asleep while reading.. I tried to read Beowulf in highschool and I always found myself dozing off
