Why do we call native american indians when there not from india and dont look like people from there?Just something on my mind lol?
Yeah that's taught in our history in school Lol....y'all should be thankful to us Indians or america might not have been discovered until the 20th century
I still do ?... I learned about the native american indians first and got really confused when I was learning about the Indians from India as a kid
America would of still been found. It's not like Indians went out and found others and said come where we live. Granted they helped in some places of need once the settlers came.
Because they're native to America, the first people on the land. That is why they're referred to as Native Americans.
Because Christopher Columbus (really not the brightest guy, yet he still has a holiday) thought he landed in India. Chris Columbus: "I claim this land for Spain!" Native Americans: "Ummm but we're already here."
Ugh, being from Texas. We at least call tortillas tortillas (the ll is an ee sound for those who don't know). But some people call jalapenos jalapenos (j is an h sound, but they still make the j sound). Or when we call the Rio Grande River the Rio Grand (you do pronounce the e like a soft e). Uggghhh. Hard to explain in typing too
I want to know why those of us from the United States refer to ourselves as Americans, when Canada, Mexico, Central, and South Americans are also Americans. I usually say I'm from the US.
