Ya people on forums are dull boring and bland af I don't have to post on forums, make thread about my turtle or how to break up wit someone or even about puff pastry but I do cuz forums are sad af and the people who post are so boring instead of witty clever silly fun replies we get boring shiet and I'm not saying im better but at least I try to bring some life into this by making some threads people may bish all they like about my low quality sheit but until they make some high quality threads then I'll listen and bump my game lol I mean someone here really told me to Google it ya I could Google shiet but I thought hey maybe I'll ask what's the difference between puff and short pastry on forums and people will engage, give their experiences on puff pastry maybe drop a recipe or two and itll be fun and lovely but noooo we here fighting about search engines when we all know Yahoo is the best one lol so ya forums r dead and get used to my low quality shiet biden 2024

Puff pastry is flaky with buttery layers. Short pastry is crumbly like the bottom of a quiche or tart. The ingredients are probably similar, but the technique is different to create the final product.
Puff pastry is flaky because you create it by folding layers into it which is a massive pain to do when you're doing it by hand. Plus the amount of butter that goes in it to for that flavor and texture means you need to work fast to avoid having it melt. Short pastries are crumbly. Egg tarts have either crust. The Portuguese one having the flaky version.
It makes it an entirely different product. Like pie crust vs pita bread. It's mostly the same ingredients, but an entirely different product. I think puff pastry is better, but it's a pain in the ass to make. Y'all should watch a YouTube video of how it's made. It takes forevvvveeeerrrr
