Any police officers how the recruitment process? Can you have 2 roles in the department ex: detective and criminalist? Curious ?

criminal justice degree useless. trust me. i majored it. you're better off joining the police force right away. Anyways, normally first they have you do a physical test first. Like sit-ups, pull-ups, a mile under a certain amount of time, etc.
You can not be both. You can be a detective of a specific department. Or an officer who rides the calls. Sheriffs departments man the jails and prisons. But to begin you find your local police department and their websites exaplain in full detail what the process is. Good luck
