  1. I know their have been threads like this made, and it's slightly egotistical, but I think with my mouth and not with my brain, if that's even possible.

    I'm slightly annoyed.

As writers, we want criticism, critique and reviews.

We don't want mindless 'bumps' when our stories are already on the first page.

We appreciate them, but when our threads are just full of them...? No, not really. Sorry to disappoint, but then if my story thread ever got to page 50 and above, other readers would just skim through pages for hours and not find the whole thing.

    That's one thing.

    But guess what?

When I see stories, those overly cliché stories, the ones with no constructive plot and no descriptive words with numerous grammar mistakes get more handclaps than the good ones? I'm a little frustrated. The stories get pushed back to page 2/5, and guess what?

Now you frickin' know the reason why some writers don't update anymore. :3

Come on. I mean, I'm not saying they're bad writers or anything, no. It has nothing to do with the writer, it's how you just bump and bump and bump.

    You don't help.

    Oh no. You don't.

You think you're helping, but really? You're filling the Fan Fiction forums with stories that aren't brought up to their full potential.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be shown in the spotlight or anything, but really?

    No criticism, reviews, nothing whatsoever?

Let's say, hypothetically, that there were chainsaw wielding serial killers in your house. Would you just walk over to them and go, 'Hey! Bro! KEEP UP THAT GOOD JOB, DOGG' or would you say, 'Your killing style is sooo tacky. It's so unoriginal. Really? A knife? I'd rather—'

    Yeah. You'd say neither.

I'm not saying this has ever happened in the history of PiMD fanfic writing, maybe not THIS ATA game, but you shouldn't push criticism TOO far. Remember, nothing personal, it's professional.

What I'm saying, really, is that I see a lot of people just smiling. Merely smiling. And in this case, bumping is smiling.

Like normal people, you should smile regularly.

But when you smile TOO much?

Why, you might just get sent to an asylum and never see the daylight ever again!

This may be arrogant, but honestly?

It really makes me want to facepalm myself when some stories that are mediocre or 'less than average' don't get helpful advice to improve, and stories that are very detailed and juicy get pushed back.

Note the little marks around 'less than average'. I'm not saying they are, it's just that they have more grammar mistakes than real published books... And— *cough*

    It's not bad.

    It really isn't.

    It's a way to IMPROVE.

But when you get ambushed by bumps? Do you really think you're helping?

It's basically lying. Being dishonest because they're your FRIEND.

The truth hurts. It really really does, at times, but could you spare them the depression of finding out rather than helping them?

And I don't mean the brutal truth. Sugarcoat it.

And with that said, I will resign as an author and start giving out advice to people... *spasm*

Considering that it's not my forte. *twitch*

  2. Bump  Naw I'm kidding. I put it cause usually I'm too lazy to give feedback 

  3. Read. :3
I do need to criticize a bit more. :/ I haven't been doing that lately. I've been doing that on my sister's homework though. e.e

  4. ._.

GET OFF THE COUCH AND GO GO GO!

  5. Only if chu turn the frown upside down  THEN i'll give proper feedback. Would you prefer if I put:
"I love this story because blahblahblah. But you need to improve on blahblahblah..."?

  6. No. Seriously, Lily. I'm really tired of all those mere bumps.

  7. Okay. Check MommaPies story Deadly Sins I just gave feedback. Happier?

  8. I didn't specifically tell you to give feedback on a specific thread... But okay. 

  9. Oh, Lily.
Agreed, Chloe! >:3 *runs off to constructively criticize*

  10. Wait a second... Momma don't chu dare be mean to me about my doctor story!!

  11. Constructive Criticism isn't the same thing as being mean.

  12. I'm the kind of person that doesn't take criticism very well :3 unless I love chu xD

  13. Well, well… 

  14. Lol but I agree I like getting feedback from the readers.

  15. Psh! Don't "Oh, Lily" me! Geez you give feedback because you get moaned at and then you get mo- psh I cannot win 

  16. I also equally don't like when people start having conversations in threads Sometimes I'm a part of them on my threads, but that's because I'm the owner of the thread. But don't start getting into your "sissy, brother, mother" whatever. Not on my thread. That's what PM is for, or didn't you know. Kthxbye

  17. Rainbow, criticism does not mean being mean. It's to be helpful. Why do you go to school, then? Teachers criticise you as well. ;P

  18. True, Katie. True. It does annoy you when people get a little TOO comfortable in your thread, doesn't it?

  19. I completely agree. Bumps are meaningless and they don't help you understand the reader's wants at all. I like feedback as well. I've made a thread about this so many times, but stories that have terrible grammar get applauded more and more. -___-

  20. Yes. Feedback is one thing I like NEVER get. It bothers me because I feel as if my story has no problems, when to me it does. I want honest opinions... 
