So, everyone got a peace tag in their rewards box today. What do you think the "stress test" is meant to test, specifically? I have heard some ideas bounced around and would like to hear yours.
I did find it interesting how they chose to implement it during a promo, but I thought of it more in a snarky They-support-fairies-and-hurt-farmers sort of way. Haha But that is certainly something to think about!
Tbh I nearly bumped the threat about it so peeps could complain once I saw they gave the tags.. definitely seem to support non pvp which is big dumb but at least it’s not the 24 hour tag? Or whatever other amount it comes in
I’m curious as well as to what others thinks. When I saw it I was on an alt. So I’m like this is useless. But I mean once I saw promo earlier my first thought was damn I wonder if hits are gonna happen or they’ll be taken advantage as well. Then bam pass pops up and I’m like eh that’s cool I guess. Then I moved on with my thought
I think, if it were the 24 hour pass, it would have an even more drastic impact on cutting down PvP in such a short period of time so I guess there's that.
Yeah, I think the stress test definitely has a correlation to the promo event. You reopened the app and everything?
Oh, yeah, I think that it is pretty clear that ATA has been prioritizing fairies over those who actively engage in PvP for quite some time.
There are a few reasons ATA could be "stress testing" this. They could be testing how well the servers handle timers on thousands of players' peace tags (let's be honest, we all know the servers can be crap at times) ATA could be testing how much these peace tags affect PvP actions overall. If having these peace tags out and about causes a detrimental effect on the amount of PvP, the Devs will have to rethink and adjust the idea of the peace tags. They could also be testing player habits with these. Will players use these peace tags and intentionally cause drama thinking they're protected? Will players use these during waking hours or overnight? (8h is a good amount of time for sleeping) Will players actually buy the peace tags? There are so many variables that ATA cannot be comfortable in predicting when they released these into the wild.
"Stress test" made me think they want to make sure if a large amount of the player base activates one, they will all work without bugs. I assumed it was during a promo weekend because promo weekends probably coincide with ATA's heaviest traffic days.
I don't think testing whether or not players will buy them makes sense atm because they just gave out free ones but it definitely would make sense for them to be analyzing hit/behavior patterns of those using them and not using them. Maybe I am bitter but I don't think ATA will be reworking anything just because it negatively impacts PvP, though- I think they have, for the most part, proven they don't really care.
