So here's the first chapter of the story I promised you, with a couple of characters I added in last minute, enjoy ~ Chapter 1 The wind chilled her as she walked across the boundary into Paradise town. Her feet silently fell against the pristine pavement. She pulled her cloak closer to her body hoping the thick material would protect her. The road wasn't busy, but she hoped her tradition of wearing a cloak wasn't out of fashion. Glancing at the houses and the cars in the drives around her, she felt more at home here, than anywhere else she had been. It's only taken her 2,020 years to complete her search. This was the town she was going to stay in. There was a positive vibe around that she could easily sense. But there was something underneath all, something unsettling. That something is what she had been searching for all these years. She was 17 when she started, and she still looks it. Her heart pounded in her chest, reminding her part of her was like everyone else. Her exposed legs complained with every step as her dress was flowing down behind her, leaving the front clinging to her thighs. Her hair which reached her hips was being thrown behind her with the wind. Titania couldn't use her warming spell as she glowed like the sun when she did. She raised her head to see there were more streets and the council building. Maybe they'll give her refugee. Titania could use her powers of manipulation to get her own apartment, or maybe she shouldn't. Her power was needed to complete her search. She climbed the small flight of stairs nimbly, stopping to look back at the town by the door before walking in. The door groaned it's annoyance as she opened it. The receptionist looked up in slight surprise, "what can I do for you sweet?" She asked Titania. "I'm seeking refuge." The receptionist nods "follow me." She stands up and waits by the door, Titania follows her. "We have a room back here spare. Hope you sleep well." Titania enters the dismal small room. "I suppose this will have to do, they'll place me in a better place tomorrow." Titania wanders around after taking off her cloak, checking the wardrobe briefly to find a pair of socks, a beige trench coat, blue jeans and a grey long sleeved crop top. The last person here obviously didn't need them. Egaltine walks into the lobby as the receptionist sits back down, "anything interesting happen tonight?" Eglatine asks. "Not really, although a seventeen year old just came in a cloak and was seeking refuge, so I took her to the second room on the right Eg." The receptionist replies causing Eg to raise an eyebrow. A 17 year old with a cloak, in room 3, something she definitely would have to check out. Eg walks to room 3 and knocks quickly twice in a business like fashion, "come in." Replied a voice like honey and Eg opened the door to find Titania eyeing up the trench coat on the bed. Titania looked up at her visitor to find the purest green eyes that reminded her of a doe that crossed her path in a woods once. Eg smiled brightly and walked in sitting on a chair "hi, I heard you were seeking refuge, what for?" She starts fiddling with her hair whoch often reminded people of autumn walks with the dead leaves on the ground. "I'm looking for something." Titania replies calmly, Eg leans forward slightly "can I help?" Titania chuckles. "I doubt it." Eg shrugs slightly and looks at the clothes on the bed "that will suit you so don't worry about anything clashing." At the word clashing, Titinia goes into a daydream remembering her past. The wind chilled the gods and goddesses as they lined up for battle. The gods were raring to go, but it wasn't quite the same with Titania's troops. "Why are we in this battle too Ti?" Numerous voices moaned at Titania and she had to count to ten. "Do you really want those monsters to take over?" The mongers soon shut up and got ready. It flashed forward to the battle itself, the were grunts and sweat pouring off the immortal bodies of the gods. Titania pushed her sword into a heiron, killing it instantly, but stopped when she saw her next opponent. It was taller, it was broader, it was longer than a heiron, this was something from hell itself. It was a shadow heir, that lives in the shadows and takes people randomly from the streets to put them in hell and that's if they survive the journey. Titania snapped out of the daydream to Eg shaking her shoulder slightly. She found herself head in her hands crouching on the floor "are you okay?" Eg asks sweetly and Titania shrugs her off. "I just need a good night's sleep." Eg nods and heads to the door as Titania stands up. The girl in the door way turns around "if you need anything, ask for Eglatine." She then walks off after shutting the door. Titania shrugs and puts the clothes on the current vacated chair. She slides her shoes off before running her hands through her light brown hair which was the colour of bark on young trees. She doesn't need people to look after her, she just needs to find what she needed. Eg wandered home to her apartment in the summer wind that blew Titania to bits when she suddenly had a thought. She didn't ask the girl her name. Well, I'll help her get around, she could help me. Glancing up at her building she sighed. Being the mayor's niece didn't get you everything, well in her case, it did, as she had the best flat in all of Paradise town. As she climbed the stairs, Eg tried to get her wind swept hair out of her face. She had always been vain. Her ginger hair had never bothered her as she was always bubbly, sweet and outgoing causing her to easily be accepted. The click of her flat lock soothed her and she stepped inside, slipping her shoes off immediately to get the warmth into her feet. You see, her flat had underfloor heating. She padded softly over to her window, watching the waves ripple in the wind. Her apartment was by the beach, and in her lounge was a window from the floor to the ceiling, so she never had issues with light. Then she made her way to her bar, I know what you are thinking, why can't I have a flat like that? But then again this is fiction. She poured herself a shot of vodka, downed it and then put the bottle away. "Tv on." She said and the tv screen lit up immediately. "Channel 28." The channels switched over and Eg settled into her luscious corner sofa watching her favourite tv program. Soon the Reed symbol flashed in the top left corner of the tv screen. "Answer the call." Eg said and waited for whoever was calling her to show on screen. A familiar face showed up on screen, Elina Routsis, "Elina, my friend, how are you?" Eg asked with delight. Elina's hair sparkled as the light from her hotel room hit it and her eyes mirrored the same excitement "not bad my friend. Sorry if I have disturbed anything." She chuckles, her Greek accent showing through. "Oh you know, only my favourite program." Eg replies cheerfully, but she rarely sees Elina, so these moments are cherished. "I'm staying a couple of towns away at the moment, I'll be in Paradise tomorrow." Eg's face lit up even more and she now perched on the edge of her sofa. "Why are you in town?" "Well there's the Paradise town summer carnival coming up soon isn't there? I wouldn't miss it for the world." Eg nodded, the carnivals were always spectacular, her uncle made sure of that, not that Eg sees him often. "I have never told you how big your face looks on my TV screen. I always forget to mention it." Elina laughs "I hope you don't find anything to disturbing. Would I be able to stay with you while I'm in town? I'll be here over two weeks, it will be good to catch up." "Sure thing, see you tomorrow my friend." Eg waved before Elina disconnected the call. Boy, was that going to be a fun couple of weeks. Titania found sleeping hard, but she needed it. Her dreams weren't much of a sanctuary though, the screams of the heirons and shadow heirs filled her ears. She twisted in the bed all night, and just before the sun rose, she fell out of the bed, landing in a defensive position already awake. One of the downfalls of being the Queen of Goddesses, awake before you hit the ground. She opened the curtains and watched the sun rise from it's journey around the other half of the planet. Using her mind she called out to the other Gods and Goddesses, hoping they would respond. Elina woke up then, something inside of her stirring as a familiar voice filled her head. Her queen. Elina didn't know Titania in this world, but twenty years ago, the goddess Elene was born into the world as Elina, to find Titania and help her. Now she just needed to figure out where she was...
Didn't see the mistakes *hits my head with my hand* anyway *which instead of whoch *moaners instead of mongers *there was instead the were
yay! I'm in it! And it's soooo good! Except change the spelling of my characters name?Eglantineyay! So good so far! BUMP!
Here's the next chapter ~ Chapter two Elina gets out of her bed and stands by her window, drawing the curtains back to see the sun had just risen. Somewhere in her subconsciousness she knew that their powers on reaching each other were stronger at dawn and sunset. She let her mind respond "I'm here Titania, it's Elene." Immediately Titania heard Elene and she almost jumped in joy hearing her voice. "I'm in Paradise town. Meet me tomorrow." Titania replies "I'm visiting for over two weeks anyway from tomorrow." Titania nearly cheers "where are you staying? I'm in the council building at the moment." "With Eg." "Don't you mean Eglantine?" Titania's curiosity made Elina chuckle "yeah, Eg." Realisation hits Elina. If her and Titania meet, Elina will change into Elene and that change cannot be reversed. Elene is like Elina in her looks, shimmering hair and bubbly eyes, but her stature was different. Elene was a bit taller, younger and more lean, but not by much. She puts her head in her hands, she could loose everything because of who she is. There was a decision to made, stay human and loose touch with the other Gods and Goddesses, or become a Goddess again and lose her 'family' and job but not her friends. Why not go back to being a Goddess, it means I can see all my friends again. I can visit like Titania, I won't be completely gone from Eg's life will I? Titania reached out for other Gods, if Elene was here, there must be more of them. There has to be. However she bumped into someone she didn't want to find. Olus. She sighed in frustration, Roman Gods won't help, the stubborn things. Then an oi filled her mind "it's true but still, just no." He had attitude so she broke the link. Dimitris stirred in his bed for his morning run. He pet the cat sat up in complaint as he moved from the bed. Glancing at the sun momentarily, then went to his wardrobe picking out his running shorts and t-shirt. As he pulled his trainers on, the cat settled on his bed again like nothing happened, basking in the newly risen sun. Grabbing his keys he jogged quietly as possible down the stairs to not wake his housemates. Shutting the door behind him, he jogged with the sun on his back. While jogging past the hotel, he saw a girl in a window with hair that glittered in the sunlight, he felt his heart beat a little faster with a pull of familiarity. He was too busy looking at her when he neared a lamppost. Glancing back at the path, he just dodged the lamppost which made the girl laugh. He blushed and continued jogging feeling like a fool. Elina was still giggling when she shut her curtains two minutes after the jogger nearly went into the lamppost. He seemed familiar, the way his muscles flexed under his top and shorts, his foolishness. They seemed all too close, too familiar, too much like Doros. She stopped in the middle of her room and put on her jogging gear. Here goes nothing she thinks to herself as she starts jogging, hoping to intercept him at some point. Dimitris almost fell over when he saw the girl from the window jogging in front of him, he smiled before catching her up. "It's a nice morning for a jog isn't it." Dimitris comments when beside Elina and she nearly leaps in the air. "Yes it is, it's also a nice morning to go into lampposts." She replies smirking. Dimitris laughs "give me a chance." Elene takes over Elina's head, that's Doros. Elina pushed her away again and replied "so what's your name?" Dimitris smiles a moment before answering. "What if I don't want to tell you in case you stalk me." Elina laughs to cover Elene's voice in her head. "I'm leaving town today anyway." She comments, Dimitris slows as he nears his house, "did you need a lift to where ever you are going to?" Elina shakes her head "I'm only going a couple of towns over." "To Earnsdale? Why would you want to go there?" He asks in surprise causing Elina to giggle musically. Dimitris felt his heart melt, but that laugh seemed strangely familiar, but he pushed that thought out of his head. "No I'm going to Paradise town," Elina replies smiling, "I'm meeting a friend who lives there." Dimitris nods "Their carnival is in a couple of weeks, why go so early?" "I rarely come over here, as you can probably tell I'm from Greece." Dimitris nods, her accent shone through "when are you leaving the hotel?" "It's okay I'm catching the bus over." "Please?" "For all I know you could be a murderer." Elina replies jokingly causing Dimitris to shake his head "why would my housemates still be alive then?" "True, but they could be on it to. See you at the carnival in a couple of weeks." Elina jogs off leaving Dimitris where he was standing. Well he didn't change into Doros, but that might be because he doesn't know he is a God. Elina thought as she jogged back to the hotel, when she got in her room, she changed into a floral knee length dress after a quick shower. She left her golden hair flowing down her back, not noticing the slight change in how light her hair was. Packing her bag she wished she hadn't gone out for a jog, but she felt better for it as her muscles were getting stronger. Elina had got it all wrong, the changes didn't happen all at once, it happened gradually. She didn't have a choice anymore, she was changing into Elene. Slinging the bag on her back, she walked out her room and then checked out, almost skipping through the door. She waited at the bus park for the coach to come to pick her up. Titania folded the top and jeans and wrapped them, including the socks, in her cloak. She watched the scenery out the window while doing her shoes. This was definitely going to be a nice day. After putting the trench coat on she ran her hands through the length of her hair. The knots instantly came out when her fingers touched them, the benefits of being a goddess she thought with a smile on her face. She picked up her cloak and walked to the reception where the same lady from last night was sat. "I'm looking for..." Titania got cut off by the door swinging open and Eg came bounding in wrapping an arm round Titania's shoulder "just the person I was looking for. Come on I need your help with something." Titania was out the council building before she could protest. "What job is it?" Titania asked "I'm taking you shopping," Eg clapped her hands in excitement before continuing, "you can wear that for the carnival in a couple of weeks. But first we need to take this back to my apartment, and you need to take your coat off, it's a warm day." Titania smiled as she shrugged off the coat, maybe having Eg around wasn't such a bad idea after all. The sea soothed Titania's ears as it reminded her of Elene, but before she knew it, Eg was dragging her up some stairs in an apartment building. "I have the entire top floor to myself so there's plenty of space. Also I got a Greek friend coming later after we do shopping so we will pick her up on the way back." Titania just nods in reply as she already knew who it was. When Eg opened the door, Titania looked round in amazement. The lounge was stunning like I mentioned before. "It's good isn't it?" Eg commented "it's not the best place though if I'm honest." Titania looked at her in shock "did you just say it wasn't the best place? This is so nice." Eg shrugs, and leads Titania to a spare bedroom "my friend Elina will be staying in the one on the left, nearest to the sea, I'll be on the other side, so if you need anything, just ask. Change into the jeans and crops top before we go out." Eg addresses Titania "Wouldn't it make more sense for me to stay in this?" "No, besides your hair will cover your back so only your belly will be showing, it's not a big deal." Eg shuts the door leaving Titania alone. Well here goes nothing Titania thinks as she takes her shoes off, instantly feeling the warmth in her feet. This girl is so spoilt if she doesn't think this is the best apartment. Titania puts the jeans on and they fit perfectly. She looks hesitantly at the top. It has sleeves so it won't show the mark on her right shoulder blade where she had been cut before in the battle before she came here. It will only heal properly when she goes home, or finds Klytie, the goddess of healing. She puts the top on then looks in the mirror and saw that Eg was right. The top complimented her hair and her figure. She smiled and turned round glancing over her shoulder at her back, it was covered. Eg was mostly right, but only wrong when it came to possessions. She put her shoes back on and walked out to the lounge. Eg gasped when she saw her "you look so cute. You could pass as my sister." Titania laughs "and do people know if you have siblings?" Eg shrugs in response "The only family member everyone cares about is my uncle. But I rarely see him. Even if I do, he's in the shadows." Titania has to keep herself from pressing further. As only shadow heirs constantly stay in the shadows apart from when they are taking someone to Hell. Titania walks out onto the balcony, looking at the sea "you must love living here." She comments when Eg eventually joins her. Eg hesitates before answering "well, it isn't exactly paradise..."
OHMYGOSH! So good! Bump! I want some superpowers tooglad to see I'm spoilt. I don't like being a poor person!
Here's something I compiled (that's a posh word XD ) as part of my notes to help me write the story ~~~~~~~~~~ Shadows heirs escaped to Earth after their unsuccessful battle with the Greek Gods ~~~~~~~~~~ Titan sends his 17 year old sister to Earth to hunt them down ~~~~~~~~~~ It is now 2020, Titania has entered Paradise town, knowing immediately there is. So far she has discovered there is Goddess Elene in Elina Routsis ~~~~~~~~~~ Elene has made a discovery of her own, Doros, another God, in an Englishman named Dimitris. ~~~~~~~~~~ Dimitris doesn't know who he is, but feels a pull in his heart when he sees Elina. Will he discover who he is? ~~~~~~~~~~ Titania mistakenly contacted Olus, a Roman God, what part does he play in this? ~~~~~~~~~~~ The last and my favourite point: How much does Eglantine know about her uncle? Could it be the difference between catching the shadow heir in the town, or losing it?
Here's the next chapter ~ earlier than I thought but anyway, enjoy Chapter three Elina nearly skips over to the coach when it arrives but still gets on and chooses a seat near the front. Placing her bag in front of her she smiles, ready for the challenges the next two weeks could bring. Her mind drifts to Titania. She was beautiful, but then again, so was every Goddess. Her brother Titan, who wouldn't guess that, ruled the Gods, but he wasn't the most handsome or the strongest one of them all. Doros was the strongest, only as he is the God of strength, both physically and mentally. As for the most handsome, there's too many, but Titan isn't in the top 8. If anything Titania would agree with me. How has she survived all these years, hidden away from the history books. She was sent to Earth and arrived the day Christ was born, hence the star in the sky. After the wise men, as they called themselves, arrived at their destination, she dropped to the ground behind the stable and disappeared. Until now. Titania was used to the quietness of some shopping centres, but here, compared to other places, it was almost deafening. Eg dragged her from shop to shop and Titania tried on millions of outfits, most of them got brought for her. Titania smiled as she sat talking with Eg at a coffee shop, her and Elene used to sit in the grass of their home by a river chatting. Eg checked her smartphone and stood up, picking up six out of twelve bags "come on or we will be late to pick Elina up." Titania complied picking up the other bags with ease and following Eg back to her car. Titania sat in the back almost in a daydream, singing along gently to the music on the stereo, the sweetness of her voice relaxed Eg as she drove to the coach park. They were sat in the car at the coach park for two minutes when the Elina's coach pulled up. Eg got out of her car, standing in front of the bonnet waiting for Elina. Elina jumped off the bottom step of the coach and when she saw Eg, she started running towards her. Eg moved forward a few steps and opened her arms, Elina melted into them. "It's nice to see you without your head being scarily big." Eg says jokingly. Elina laughs and Titania recognises that laugh from their home, that was definitely Elene. Elina broke the hug and got in the car after swinging her backpack off her back. "Hi, and you are?" Elina asked even though she knew who it was. Titania smiled "Titania." "That's a different name, mine's Elina." Eg starts the car and drives back to her apartment. "Elina can you take four of these?" Eg asks offering her four bags of clothes from the boot. "I take it you took Titania shopping then." She replies taking two in each hand then heading to the stairs with Titania close behind her. "How's Earth treated you then Titania?" Elina asks quietly when Eg is still struggling to lock her car with four bags of shopping in her hands. "The landing was fine and most of it was recorded in something called the bible. I disappeared to avoid torture and capture. But the best bit is I think I know where a shadow heir is." Titania replies in the same manner. Elina raises an eyebrow "where would that be then?" "Right here in Paradise town." Titania replies and Eg catches up to them when they reach the bottom of the stairs up to her place. "Do you want me to hold two bags?" Titania asks Eg and she eagerly hands over two bags and takes the steps two at a time. She opens the apartment then puts her keys in a dish and puts the bags on the table. Titania takes the six bags she has straight into her room, with Elina on her tail. "How can it be here in Paradise?" She asks. Titania places the bags on her bed with Elina copying her. "I felt it Elene as I walked across the boundary, haven't you ever felt it?" "No but that's only because I discovered who I was yesterday." "Who else have you seen because you were already changing when you saw me." "What?" Elina rushes over to the mirror and looks at the reflection. Her hair is lighter, her stature slightly more lean and sophisticated, a little taller in height as well. She mutters at her reflection "Doros." "Who?" Titania asks as Elina walks back to her "Doros." It takes Titania a moment to realise. "Oh the one you have a crush on." Causing Elina to blush. "No, I saw him earlier, he jogged past the hotel I was staying in after I spoke to you. He didn't know who he was." Titania nods, neither of them knew he was here so that explains it. While Titania unpacks a couple of bags showing Elina the clothes Eg walks in with the other two bags "here's the last of your clothes." "Thank you for getting them." Titania replies and Eg smiles "Well, you needed more than one dress, a pair of shoes, a cloak, jeans and a crop top." The trio laugh and Elina suggests "why don't you put the outfits on and then come out and show us." Titania nods and the girls walk out chatting. The trio manage to go through all the outfits and kill off the whole afternoon. Titania changes back into her crop top and jeans and joins the others on the sofa. "So I was thinking of going down to the beach later to the camp fire they hold." Eg suggests. Her tv screen lights up with a Reed profile showing on the screen. Eg puts her finger on her lips and says "answer." "Eglantine." "Uncle what have I said, it's..." "Enough. Tomorrow I need to talk to you about a couple of people who have come into the town recently." Elina's and Titania's eyes widen. "But uncle I have plans." "Cancel them." "But I can't." "Goodnight Eglantine." He cuts off the call and the girls look at each other "I'm sorry I tried." Eg says. Titania shrugs "it's alright." "Yeah, he is your uncle and he is the mayor, you have to listen." Elina backed up Titania. The Goddesses had knots in their stomachs. Maybe it was them he was talking about. Maybe it wasn't. Eg goes to the kitchen to make dinner and the other two stand on the balcony. "It could be us who he is talking about." Elina comments "But how does he know we are here? It makes no sense." "Unless he's one of Hell's guardians or another God?" "I bumped into Olus after I contacted you, but I knew they wouldn't help with the search." "The Roman Gods don't know about the battle unless they sent the shadow heirs to destroy us so they can rule the world." "What did you just say?" "The Romans could of sent the shadow heirs." "That can only mean they've done a deal with the devil, which wasn't a brilliant idea." "Hang on a minute." "What?" "Couldn't that mean Eg's uncle is the devil himself?" Titania considers what Elina said and nods slowly "he could be, Eg says that he always stays in the shadows when she sees him." "I've never seen him in the town." "I don't think anyone apart from his accomplices have. He could be anyone on these streets. Barely anyone knows what he looks like." "He can blend in with the crowd at anytime any place." Eg calls the girls "dinner is done." The pair walk in and join Eg at the table to see spaghetti and meatballs set out ready. "Thank you." They both say and Eg smiles before she starts eating. "Elina, how's Greece treating you?" "Fine actually, but you know this is my yearly visit around carnival. Yes I come at other times but that isn't the point I'm trying to make." Elina laughs. Eg notices their voices are similar, "you two aren't related are you?" Elina shakes her head "I didn't know Titania's name until she introduced herself." Eg just raises an eyebrow and keeps eating. "Oh come on Eg, how could she be my relative? We don't know each other." Eg just mumbles and pushes her last meatball around her plate. "This isn't because of what your uncle said is it? I'm here for you more than he is." "That's different, he's family." Elina sits there with a hurt expression on her face. "Eg, how many times have I been there for you when he hasn't?" Eg doesn't reply and stalks back to her room after putting her plate in the kitchen. Elina runs her hands through her hair pulling it back from her face "she has been so spoilt. I'm getting some air." Titania sets her stuff away and washes up. She knew why Elina needed the fresh air, as Elene she is the goddess of water so being here is perfect for her. Eg sits cross legged on her bed, watching her reflection in the large mirror on one of her walls. She was half expecting for someone to appear behind her for no apparent reason. Something started stirring inside of her. What could it be? Something in her mind. She pushed it away, just trying to focus on her two friends. That something was trying to get her to see who they really are. Eg had no idea what her uncle looks like, he's always in the dark when she sees him. There was never any pictures of him around when she was a little girl. This stirred something inside of her, what if he kidnapped her and is posing as her uncle. Her head was swimming with what ifs. Is he my uncle or not? Who is Titania? Is Elina telling the truth? She openly sighed and mumbled to herself 'I shouldn't of flipped out' running her hands back through her copper hair she shut her eyes. Thinking back to her childhood days she heard a child's giggle in front of her 'how the hell did a child get in my flat?' She mumbled before opening her eyes. Her hands froze in their place, before her was a seven year old version of herself making a daisy chain with a boy the same age as her. She slowly moved her legs off of her bed and walked other to the two children. Who was that with her she thinks and searches her brain for an answer while sitting down on the floor. Her eyes search his face, but his stared straight through her like a window. He finishes making the crown and puts it on the seven year old Eglantine's head "the queen of flowers." He says as he places it. The current Eg freezes in her spot. That's someone who died ages ago. Well he died to her anyway as he got taken into hiding. The door to her room whipped open and Elina stood in the doorway, her mouth open in surprise. She found she was looking at a seven year old Eg and Dimitris "how are you doing that?"
