Runic Bloodlines Chapter 1: The City of Love... And Death [b/] Josh Paris Standing tall and proud in the background, the Eiffel Tower stood, spearing vertically through the orange and now setting sun. Only the silhouette of the metal giant could be seen; the sun was too glaring. In a few hours, it would stand inconspicuous, against the black sky of the night, the tallest structure for miles. Walking side by side with Jodiiee under the scorching sun, I turned sharply to the left at the crossroad and we started into Rue de Nicholas Flamel [i/] and towards our usual hangout - the Nicholas Flamel Inn. As usual, we could see the stout and cheery innkeeper behind the bar counter, which, once again and never failing to, brought a smile to our faces. "Whisky as usual?", I asked Jodiiee. "None of your business", she replied jokingly, and we chuckled together. All of a sudden, a man who was walking in front of us stopped dead in his tracks. Then he toppled sideways, in the direction of the road,, and directly in the path of an oncoming car. Within a split second, the documents within his briefcase were scattered all over the road, his body slumped on the bonnet of the car. Where his head made impact with the windshield, was a spiderweb of cracks. His face was smeared with blood. He was dead.
Jodiiee There was a big gasp within the Nicholas Flamel Inn, and a huge gathering of people outside. "What's happening?" I asked the innkeeper. He put it very bluntly and said that somebody had just been hit by a car. As Josh and I went outside to see the incident, we gaped in horror. There was blood everywhere, and a very frantic driver freaking out hysterically near the side. The mans mashed up body was hardly a body at all now. His head was severely crushed, to the extent where it didn't even look like a head at all. His blood, however started to stink, and I don't know if it was my eye-sight, but it looked like it was turning an ever so slightly different Colour. "Blimey.." said Josh. "Smells a bit over here!" he joked. I looked over and saw a briefcase near the edge of the pavement, and all of the poor guys documents scattered in the road. He looked quite like a business man. In the end somebody had called the ambulance, and the scene was dealt with. "Nothing more to see here!" shouted the Innkeeper, trying to keep the situation under control. "Back in the Inn, drinks are on me!" he called out.
Jodiiee, continued.. As me and Josh sat back down at our table, within moments the Nicholas Flamel Inn was quickly partying and playing music as normal. The Innkeeper, (also known as Jerry) handed me and Josh a pint of whiskey, as he did say the drinks were on him. "Well that was pretty intense, huh?" said Josh. "Just a bit" I laughed." A middle aged man came over to our table and gestured if he could sit down with us. Josh gestured back as if to say 'go for it.' After a while of drinking and laughing it was Josh who asked what happened to the man who got hit by the car. "I saw the whole I did! Poor lad was just standing upright. I caught a glimpse of his face, smiled to 'im.. Although he did look like he was in pain.. The next thing I see is 'im on the floor!" said the middle aged man. At this point we had found out his name, he was called Keith. We were all slurring our words due to too much drink. "Just like that?" I asked "Just lieeee that!" Keith slurred. There was silence for a minute as we all looked at our nearly empty glasses. "How strange!" slurred Josh. Then we burst out in fits of laughter, once again.
I'll try fit you in Epic. I gotta wait for Josh to choose some people too, but I'm sure he'll let you.
