This is a Hobbit fanfiction, and does not like up with the book/movie whatsoever. I'll post occasionally page by page, and if you have an opinion, please please please comment! I'm open to criticism, and I want to hear from those of you who like it so I'll continue! Please and thank you
They were traveling along the Gladden river when they saw it: a big black bundle of clothes and they weren't sure what else floating down the river. "Oi! What's that over there?!" A hook-nosed dwarf with a gray cloak at the back of the group called out. The others soon their
The others spun their ponies around to face him, then looked to where he was pointing. "It's a person!" Another, yellow cloaked dwarf rasped, jumping off of his pony. He raced to the river and the fast disappearing bundle. He made it just in time and scooped it out of the water and into his arms, then trudged to three shore and lay it down on a rock. By this time, most of the dwarves, and even a Hobbit and a wizard, had dismounted their ponies. One with a blue cloak and dark hair rushed over and helped the yellow one pull back some of the clothing and hair, which they found a lot of. After they had cleared it all away, a beautiful face looked up at them. Harsh features, quite obviously those of a dwarf, but very beautiful indeed. No beard, even though most people believe that all female dwarves do. "It's a girl, Bofur!" The blue one exclaimed, looking at her in awe. "Yes, Kili, I had noticed that." Bofur said calmly, but worry for the girl showed in his face.
I'm sorry for all the mistakes. My phone is acting up, and I'm trying to catch them before I update, but as you can see, it's not really working.
I have an idea for you :3 instead of writing little sections, you can go to your notes and write out paragraphs there, and then post them in reasonable sections instead of varying sizes
Thanks! I was actually copying this out of a notebook I carry around, and I accidentally hit submit for the first one, but yeah I'll keep that in mind!
"Thorin, I think we should camp here for tonight. There's good cover from the trees, it's getting late, and this girl desperately needs our help." Another blue hooded dwarf they called Fili said. Thorin, wearing a sky blue hood, nodded his head and jumped off his pony. "Alright. Bifur, Bombur, start a fire. Bofur, I take it you will care for the girl?" A nod from Bofur, and two others began to work on a fire. "Good. Fili, Kili, you have the ponies again. Ori, Dori, and Nori can take care of supper. The dwarves went about their tasks, and once the fire had been lit, Bofur brought the girl to it. He had Balin fetch her some water, and once he poured it in her mouth, her eyes fluttered open. They were bright turquoise and dark lashed, a stark contrast to her ebony hair. They widened momentarily when she realized she was in an unfamiliar place, and even started to sit up and struggle, but just as soon as it appeared, the fight left her, her eyes went dim and her body limp. "Come now, child. Sit up and let's get some food in you." Bofur said soothingly, propping her up in a sitting position and smiling. She obeyed, and even opened her mouth when he held up a spoonful of food. He fed her bite by bite, and she vomited once, but he finally got all of it down. He then lay her down next to him on his bed roll and took watch over the camp.
Kili was woken by the clanging of the pots that were left by the fire and a long string of curses in what he figured to be old dwarfish. Someone was warming their hands in the embers, and from the look of it was also preparing to leave. He realized with a start then that this was the girl Bofur pulled from the river. Curly black hair ran loose down her back, and when he sat up, she whipped around, eyes wide. Kili held out a hand, "Relax! I'm Kili, and I helped save your life. What's your name?" She let her guard down slightly, but she was still poised to get up and run. Kili's question was left unanswered as the others woke. "Well it's nice to see you up and about!" Bofur exclaimed, "Hungry?" She nodded her head eagerly. She must have known that this was the man who saved her life, because she showed him no fear. Now mostly everyone was awake, and the girl was introduced to Dori, Nori, Ori, Bifur, Bombur, Fili, Oin, Gloin, Dwalin, and Balin. They swarmed her with questions and begged her to tell them her story. They all fell dead silent when a deep voice boomed "What is the cause of this commotion?" The crowd around her parted, her smile faded and her head hung down a little. "What is your name, girl?" "They call me Raevyan. Raevyan OrcDeath." The girl replied proudly. "That is the name of a warrior, my lady. I am Thorin, son of Thrain, future king of Erebor." Raevyan bowed deeply, "It is an honor, sir. I have heard word of your noble quest, and I might ask to join you." Thorin eyed her skeptically. "Can you fight?" "Yes, sir." "Weapons of choice?" "Sword and bow, sir." "Can you guarantee that you will be no burden to this company?" "Yes, sir. And if I find I do become one, I will leave you all be." "Splendid. Now we must be off. We have much to do and not enough sunlight to do it in." They mounted their ponies, Raevyan sharing Bofur's, and rode East. Very soon, it began to rain.
Is anyone enjoying this? If not, I'll just let it go. I just don't want to continue writing something that no one likes. It will get better though.
Not a very hard rain, but not exactly soft either. It was the kind of rain that was just enough to make one quite uncomfortable. She wasn't sure who started it, but eventually a song rose among them. It began as a low hum, then words began to form, speaking of lands far to the east, lands that she pretended to know nothing of. It seemed to grow dark very soon, and in a great strike of luck, they came across a large cleft in a boulder to make camp. She floated around the camp, talking with each dwarf, listening to their stories. When she came to Thorin, however, he did not seem as welcoming as the others. "You should be sleeping." he muttered. "You aren't, and besides, I want to know about the land you sung of earlier." She pleaded. "There will be no more stories tonight! Now please go to sleep." He snapped. She looked hurt, and backed away from him slowly, going to sleep next to Bofur and Kili. She dreamt of Erebor, for that was the land of which they sung, and of Dale, where she was raised as an outcast amongst her own kind. And she dreamt of Smaug, and the day that the beast burned Dale and claimed the Lonely Mountain. The day that she barely escaped with her life, and the day that her parents died. Thankfully, she woke to someone softly shaking her shoulder. It was Kili, and he looked extremely worried, which made all of her senses jump to attention. "What's wrong?" She asked frantically. "You just screamed, and you were shaking quite a bit. Are you okay?" His hand still rested on her shoulder. "Yeah, I'm fine, thanks. Sorry." she shook her head, trying to shake off the dream. "We cannot have her screaming like this. She'll attract orc packs from miles away. She'll get us all killed." Thorin mumbled to Fili. "Uncle, please. Just give her a chance, let her prove herself." This received a grunt from Thorin, and they proceeded too start their day.
