Nolla By Georgia_Falls I just got a little bored and I put this together. This is my first story on here and I know everyone is tired of ROMANCE stories in the FF, so it's not romance. Just a short story, it is a about a teenager, but doesn't focus on high school cause I know those are over rated and there's enough high school focused RPs and stories. Anyways here goes. Please tell me what you think of it, negative and positive comments and criticism would be much appreciated. As for the title, well I'm not so good at those, but don't judge a book/story by its title! Part 1. I can never tell if it's just me or not, but I feel as if I have the most awkward parents on the planet. In fact I'm sure, I'm not the only one who feels this way but it has to be a fact I do, have the most awkward parents that is. I'm not the kind of kid that hates when her parents text me to pick up some eggs on the way home from school, or even if my mom texts to say she loves me or if she's texting to make sure I haven't been kidnapped. Of course I don't really have any friends to tell me it's lame either. Bottom line is, my parents are oddly over protective. For as long as I could remember. I wasn't allowed out after eight, but that was last year, now it's nine, my mom didn't let me ride a bike without training wheels until I was twelve despite being able to ride it without needing them. Other kids went trick or treating with their friends, I went every year until I was twelve with my mom or my dad which of course led to me being made fun of at school. I wasn't even allowed to eat sushi or any other uncooked fish, not that I had much interest, but still. Every aspect of my life was closely monitored. That also meant no social networking, no Facebook or MySpace or twitter. Of course that didn't mean I didn't have an account though. However I never used it, it was more so done to be rebellious. But you would understand if you were in my shoes. Everyday it's the same old routine, go to school, do my homework, watch TV(something that'll benefit me of course or is in some way educational like Nat Geo Wild, no Pretty Little Liars or Hunger Games.) After that it's dinner and free time until ten and then it's hit the sheets. Like every other day, my day starts with the loudly buzzing six thirty alarm. *Brrrrrng.....Brrrrrng* my alrm clock went off. It stopped for a second and I could hear the alarm echoing in my head. *Brrrrrng.....Brrrrrng* it continued on for another minute or so until I finally got out of bed. I sat up and pushed my messy orange hair from my face. "Another fun day at fun school." I said sarcastically. I stretched out my arms and turned off the alarm. I could here my mother's foot steps coming towards my room so I hurried out of bed, tripping on my covers and fell down on my stomach. "Ouch." A second later my mother opened my bedroom door. She stuck her head in and smiled. She had that soft, warm heart melting kind of smile, which was the opposite of mine. My smile was bland, and always looked fake as if I wasn't happy and I was just pretending. "Was I?" I asked myself byt quickly shook the thought from my head. Of course I was happy. "Nolla?" My mother asked. "What are you doing on the floor?" I didnt reply instead I just moaned and lifted my arm and pointed to the bed. My mother pushed her eyebrows together and just looked confused. "Bed...."she said. She looked down at me and back at the bed. "Ok...." she trailed off. "Well....ok then dear, but it's time for breakfast so wash up and get dressed." She began to leave but then added, "I'm making chocolate pancakes with fruit smiley faces your favorite," and then she abruptly shut the door. "Yes mom, my favorite ten years ago." I sighed and got up off the ground. After I finished showering and getting dressed I made sure all my books were in my book bag and went for breakfast. "Good morning sweetheart." My dad greeted me with. "Morning dad." I replied plainly. "How's about you give your old man a peckering?" He said as he stuck out his cheek. I laughed quietly and kissed him on the cheek. He slammed the newspaper on the counter and looked shocked. "I told you honey, kisses were the best medicine for out-of-me-days." He said. I started laughing and my mom joined in. He picked up the newspaper and continued reading. I never really knew who my dad was referring to when he said 'out-of-me-days', was he talking about me, or was that just his expression. Sure more times then not, I was having an out-of-me-day, but we all have those. "What do you want on your pancake Nolla?" My mom asked as she grabbed a plate from the cabinet. "Powdered sugar or syrup?"(and yes I do prefer powdered sugar on my pancakes and waffles 'cause syrup is too sticky and sweet for me.) "Powdered sugar." I replied. "What about you honey?" "I'll have syrup." My dad replied. "At least one of us knows how to eat pancakes properly," he joked and once again I laughed a little. The newspaper slipped from his hands onto the floor. My smile quickly vanished. "What is it dad?" "Two laughs in a five minute period..." he began and my smile returned, "That's gotta be a record of some kind." He stood up from his stool and imitated a train. "Chugga chugga chugga chugga chugga.....choooooo.....I'm on a roll this morning." He laughed. I rolled my eyes with a smile on my face and started eating my pancakes. I know it isn't much, but if I get positive or neutral feedback of some kind I'll post more.
