No, this isn't the sequel to 'Drive', yet I am making the update for it soon. =D Happy reading. Please leave tips and critique. ------------- Mephiles, I am. I was born the dark hearted monster. The ice in my heart couldn't be melted. I hated everyone with a passion. In my world, I could do things most people couldn't, like jump off a bridge and live. My problem is, I'm not human. Are you joking? Well, I don't joke. I'm pretty normal for being an oversized Great Dane at night. Well, here we go.... -------- Short cause I have school.
My black and red russet fur blew in the wind as I heard Billy—my father—call to me. "Mephiles!" he hollered, rubbing his head. I barked, running and wagging my tail. My home was in Nevada, the driest wasteland ever. I lived in Henderson, the worst place I live ever. My blond and black hair is short, right in the area of my neck. My eyes are a color of anger and sadness. Red and blue. I was loud, and loved to scream. Being a wolf didn't do much to change that. It took away my loudness, for yelling of anything loud triggered my dog side of me. My only enemies are men, and popular girls that make me want to vomit.
As we sat at home eating dinner, Billy questioned me. "You didn't stay home after you got back from school Mephiles." he said, eating a bite of his spaghetti. "School sucked." I huffed, taking small bites. "What happened?" he asked. He always assumed it was popular girls because I was the normal outcast. "....It wasn't the girls today, dad." "Then who was it?" "........It was a boy named Xavier...." Billy just kind of sat, playing with his food as if he was four, none of the less the fact that he's 47. Meanwhile I'm still 17. ".....What did he do?...." "He didn't do anything, that's the problem." I said, coughing out the last part as I choked on my parmesan overload. I was finished anyway. "So why did school suck again?" he asked after a long silence. "......" I shrugged, and spoke quickly as I ran up the stairs. "I'm going to be in my room, dad." "Okay Meph." he said, cleaning up the counter.
I sat in my room, a dim blue shinned off the wall from my light. My bed was a light shade of cream and blue. It was the kind of blue you would see in the day sky. I had stacks of CDs everywhere, my computer was on its home screen, a picture of me and Billy. I clicked the small music note on the bottom right and played the perfect song for the moment. American Idiot. I would have to say, I'm quite the American despite me being Canadian. I do have a Canadian shirt that's white with a leaf on it and in the back it has a hockey team. Being an American idiot isn't hard, all of its music has sucked me in to being insane. Any-who, I am quite the handful if you think about it. I'm Canadian, the one and only Canadian. My mom and Billy were both pure Canadians, therefore a wild Mephiles was born. My hair was a mess, and I just sat on my bed listening to music when I heard Billy call for me. I ran to where you would walk down the stairs and I shouted,"Yeah dad?!" "Phone!" "From who?...." "Xavier." he said, becoming impatient. "I-Im coming...." I said, running back to my sea room and turning off the music. Xavier, you son of a bitch.
I skipped down the stairs, taking the phone from Billy. "Yellow?" "Is this Mephiles?" asked the half-assed voice of Xavier. "Yes. What do you want?" I hissed. "Can you tutor me? I'm kind of failing English and Science...." I paused. How can you fail those two subjects? They aren't that hard. "Sure. Why don't we plan it later? You sound tired." "O-Okay...See you-" was all I heard before he slammed the phone down before he fell asleep. "What did he want?" Billy asked me, playing with my hair still in it's band. "He wants me to tutor him in a couple of subjects..." I said, fiddling with the pen. "Well that's nice of you, now isn't it?" he asked, pulling me into a happy hug. He's probably happy I'm a tiny bit social. "Yeah...I guess..." I said, hugging Billy. "Why don't we watch a movie, eh?" he suggested. "I have to sleep dad, I have a test tomorrow." "Okay, honey. Sleep well." "I will." I said, trotting up the stairs, and jumping into bed. This was the only night I had a nightmare.
I dreamed I had been walking down a sidewalk when something cracked, it appeared to be the earth beneath my feet. I was trapped in between a yard and cactus. When I had turned into a wolf, the cactus spiked me and I started bleeding. I had seen a figure, laughing at me. I woke up with my heart pounding out of my chest. Sure it wasn't a scary dream to most people, but it would be if you were on our side. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and stared at the ceiling, my eyes moving rapidly as I tried to calm myself down. My heart beat slowed back to its normal heart rate, and my eyes stood still on the ceiling. Billy was still asleep, and it was 2 hours before school starts. I got up, and lazily dragged my dress shirt of the color white, my grey sweater and a pair of skinny jeans. I took a shower, feeling the cool water boil against my hot skin. I hated having hot skin, it annoyed me. After I took my shower and got dressed, I lazily dragged my ass along to eat a damn bowl of cereal. School starts at nine, it's eight-thirty now. I eat my cereal until eight-forty-five, then I grab my truck keys and stuff them in my back pocket to write a note to Billy. Dear Dad, I'm off for school and I should be back by four or six. Love, Mephi.
I walked to school, four blocks away. I could hear little mumbling voices of prissy girls behind me. I just kept walking without tearing their clothes apart with my nails. As soon as I reached school, I shuffled to my locker to see Xavier. Fantastic. "Xavier, you're on my locker." "Oh, Hello Mephiles!" he said, in front of his asshole friends. "Xavier, are you stupid? Move!" I hissed, slapping him and then pushing him the hell out of my way. I turned my numbers so fast, it was a black and white blur to human eyes. I popped the sucker open, to see my neat locker. I grabbed my giant CaseIt binder for all my classes and I started walking while putting on my glasses. "Wait," I heard Xavier's voice say. "Mephiles!" "No. I'm going to be late."I growled, pulling my hair back in a band. "Please Mephiles? I need to talk to you.." he said, touching my arm. "DON'T TOUCH ME." I growled, smacking his hand away from my ghost-white pale body. "Godamn Mephiles, chill. I wanted to know when you wanted to tutor me today...." "How about Four to five? Sound legit? Yeah, I thought so." I said, answering my own questions, turning on my heels snatching my binder and walking off.
Billy's POV~ I read Mephiles' note, hoping it would be a good day today. I knew Xavier's dad, Charlie. He better not hurt her. Mephiles is a unique daughter I must say. She helps out a lot, and it's awfully nice of her to help Charlie's son. Xavier and Charlie aren't exactly genius. I read Mephiles' note again. School ended at 3:00.Then tutoring Xavier. Oh my, it will be a stressing day. Mephiles' intelligence and intellect were never to be questioned, an A-B honor roll student since she started school. Her helping Xavier would be a big help to Charlie. Anyway, I continued to walk until I saw her phone in her room and the small light going off. I picked it up and looked at the text-message. Xavier and Mephiles Xavier: Hey Mephiles, I wanted to know what you were doing this Friday, and do you have any plans? Mephiles: Hehe, I don't actually. Why? Xavier: Do you want to go bowling or skating? Mephiles: *Blank message I threw her phone on her bed, growling. He's asking her out?! Oh god no!
