My name is Veronica Salvator I'm a freshman starting high school. Just like any other freshman I'm terrified, terrified of what this new school had waiting for me. I took a deep breath and looked at the school that was laid out in front of me, it looked like a skyscraper compared to my middle school. Well it's either now or never, I was determined to make a great first impression and just like anyone else I wished for popularity. I walked closer to the school as far as my weak knees could take me, I pulled the door open and stepped inside.
As I walked into the building I looked around me drinking in the hallway. Students were everywhere in there little groups. They're were girl giggling at a group of baseball players and guys glancing over at a group of cheerleaders, typical high schoolers. I felt lonely I stood against a wall by myself unsure where to go. I pulled out my iPod and played anybody out there. I blasted it till the song ended, then the bell rang. I walked to homeroom feeling a bit more confident in myself. I found a seat and sat down looking for someone I know. I knew many people but just didn't hang out with any of them. I patiently waited so I could go to first period which I had with all my friends. Time seemed to drag on as I waited the teachers voice fading out and the ticking of the clock seeming louder... TICK TICK TICK RING! the bell finally rang I headed to biology with mrs. Edwards. I walked slowly, looking around, the map glued to my hand. The school was huge and I didn't wanna risk getting lost, that would be a nightmare. I walked into the classroom and found my seat I was sitting next to a girl named Chelsea I knew her from 4th grade, but we weren't close. I looked at the people walking in I recognized them from middle school and easily picked out the jerks from the average people. I hated how we were separated because of who we were and how many friends we have... This is gonna be a long school year. My best friend Amanda walked in I smiled as she sat down and my shared a silent conversation with our eyes. At least I wasn't the only one that was nervous, the teacher walked in I took a deep breath hoped for the best.

I walked slowly, looking around, the map practically glued to my hands. I found the classroom and walked in spotting my bestie Amanda I walked over and we chatted and gossiped. I had just seen her half an hour ago but it seemed like forever we were bffl! The teacher walked in so I went to find my seat I sat beside a girl named Chelsea. I wasn't close with her by I knew her, at least she wasn't a total stranger.
The day dragged on and I felt empty inside like I was forgetting something. I shook the feeling away as I sat down with all my friends at lunch. I missed them over the summer and now that empty feeling was starting to fade, but it wouldn't go away. 3rd period finally finished and I walked to fourth period. I sighed finally the last period of the day, as I walked I saw him. I stared in shook it couldn't be, but it was. We stared as if we were looking at all the money in the world. That's when I fell head over heels for you. I finally had the courage to let out my breath not realizing I was holding it in. I smiled and he smiled back. That beautiful smile I always loved so much. I thought back to when we first met, Sunday school. I remember clearly how we met, my friends and I used to take his hat and toss it to each other. Good old times, he used to laugh and smile at me when we messed with him. I never thought I liked him, it never occurred to me till this day. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks it was love at first sight.... Well I guess second sight. I smiled to myself as I sat down in my last class, Foods 1. I felt complete even though I knew he probably just saw me as another girl, I saw him as my world. I barely paid attention in class, I drew hearts all over my notebook. Then the bell rang and I raced out the door so I could see him again to my disappointment I didn't but I still had the vague memory of his beautiful smile. I giggled and got into my car and the ride there I pictured him
