So yee just wondering. Do you consider trash defamatory of character? Is it truly the most horrid and character shattering word or is it eh not that bad or doesn't deal much of a blow to your character. or if the response you had in mind isn't in the poll (wanted to keep it simple) feel free to leave a comment.
It certainly isn't nice to call someone trash but I wouldn't really say it's defamation of character lol.
Just wondering since I got silenced for calling someone trash and apparently it's "borderline defamatiton of character". Lmao i only called them trashed since they call me trash but still apparently it's "super mean" and hurting someone's character. Yes I sent a help ticket before anyone asks, but even forums is more interactive than a help ticket. here at least it's interactive and more of a discussion where help tickets usually just get closed with no explationation and end of story but at least here there's a chance for a dev to interact although it's rare. Lmao just see them come out in campus kr but sometimes and get their praising and that's it.
I think defamation of character is beyond insulting a person. Its implying they have done something- like calling someone a scammer, catfish, etc. Defamation of character is more regarding their behavior; not just a direct insult to them. That's how I see it anyway. "Sherily is garbage" vs "Sherily scammed me out of my last bento."
People often refer to themselves as trash in a joking or relatable manner,which implies a positive perception of the word. Whichever mod silenced you for calling someone trash needs to backtrack because they're bullshitting you and they have no valid understanding of what defamation truly is. You are trash is the equivalent of using a yo mama joke in sixth grade. Defamation of character would be to say that someone was a bully or abusive, to give a mild example.
So the mod that said it was defamation of character wasn't the one that silenced me (or that's what they said) but now it's a "derogatory insult" why do I even bother on the bright side might as well make it a meme "You'Re TrAsH" *gets silenced* *sends help ticket*
