Movies/shows that have let you down.

  1. *Could contain the plot of stuff that you are yet to watch... you've been warned*

Well hello everyone one, I am L-Lawliet... though i prefer to be called L. If you have seen a certain anime, you will recognize my name from somewhere.

Either way, I am making this thread to say how dissappointed I am with that anime. In case you were wondering what the heck am I talking about, well, I just finished watching Death Note and I must add that the ending resulted less than expected which leaves me with the need of more plus there was a twist in the story which seemed interesting at first but then became boring... I personally felt sad with my own death.

However, right now I'm aware that I am not the only one so... is there any story/book/series/movie that has let you down and craving for more? Please mention the name and say why :) I would love to know a bit of what movies/shows/ books I should avoid... Nevertheles, I don't regret watching Death Note at all.

As an appart announcement, I am a new player and I'd like to see if there are any full english speaking clubs out there since, as you can see, the population of asian people is huge and it is hard to find english speakers. Please take that to my wall, so we keep this thread on topic.

Thank you very much for reading, it is appreaciated.

  2. I don't read long forum posts. I just read the title then say what I want. With that being said, I'm an LOTR nerd/ Tolkien nerd and both Hobbit movies sucked beyond suckage. I just saw a commercial for the bluray like a few mins ago so this one is freshly on my mind.

Oh and any movie where Mark Wahlberg doesn't even come close to taking off his shirt. Waste.

  3. I thought long posts would come in handy, it seems they don't work here... did you read LOTR books? Maybe that is why movies dissapointed you, happened to me with The hunger games saga.

  4. Yeah that was exactly the problem. I never read hunger games so those movies were pretty perfect to me.

  5. 90% of anime screen you over like that.

Iron man 3 was total crap.
    Grown ups 2 was crap.
    Ummm......

  6. The Avengers wasn't even that great.

  7. Angels and Demons. I was so disappointed in the movie, loved the book though.

  8. In my defense, this i the first anime i ever watched that caught my attention, not because of the characters, but the story itself seemed as a perfect mystery~horror story, something i would have expected in a novel, not an anime.

  9. I have to read Angels and Demons x) will do before the summer.

  10. I saw that too. I kinda expected the ending to be how it was.

Try watching Claymore, Soul Eater, Elfen Lied, and I forget another..... They end with you saying "where's season 2".

  11. Kuroshítsuji II just about made me kill myself. ? I don't understand how anyone could have liked that. The first season ended just fine for me. I didn't need a continuation with a cliché rape story at the head, and then a happy ending for everyone but the character I like.

Rurouni Kenshin Reflections/Trust and Betrayal both were horrible let downs as well. The characters were totally out of character. It was like the Manga-ka had nothing to do with the production.

The TV version of Hellsing made me cringe as well. Couldn't even sit through the first episode. It didn't hold the same charm as the manga, and it was censored.

Most television is absolutely horrible in comparison to the book/original media. That's why I just don't watch it.

Right now I'm watching the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon, and I have yet to decide if I'm irritated by it, or if I find it amusing.

  12. I was a bit upset with the ending of Death Note... Strange to say I wanted Light to live and all the " good guys" to die 

  13. The Last Airbender was a complete disappointment and so was Dragon Ball Evolution

  14. ronin 47 was a disappointment keanu was a disappointment im a disappointment when will my father ever love me

  15. You feel me, bro.^ (Only on the Death Note one xD i haven't seen the others)

  16. Sword art online whent to crap in the last like 4 episodes... But really worth watching

  17. I'm afraid to watch Sword Art Online. My sister said it was really good, but she also thought Twilight and The Hunger Games were "ZOMG AMAZING ", so I'm wary about taking her advice about anything.

  18. How many episodes are there? Or sword art online (or that)... i like to consider shows and movies that are mentioned twice.

  19. Noah was a huge disappointment. Book was better lol
