I have a terrible craving for pizza and it’s been a week. The weather here has been terrible so I haven’t been able to go out or order it. I go to sleep and I dream of pepperoni. I eat my meals and it doesn’t compare to the taste of hot mozzarella. I am suffering. What better way to deal with my suffering than to share it with you all! Sooooo hot. Now, I know forums, you’re going to be like whut, that’s it? no support. boo no effort. So, effort I shall give for my beloved craving. First! AKA stuff I pulled from Google Pizza is ancient. Technically. The idea of putting nomz on hot breads dated back to cavemen. Yep. Even the Greeks got around to making them. But the word “pizza” (which is actually pie so people who call it pizza pie are actually calling it pie pie lol) was coined around AD 1000 near Rome and Naples in Italy. You can read moar of this in How Stuff Works. Pictured: A Neopolitan blacksmith creating an edible shield. Now onto the story probably many of you know. In 1889, the King and Queen of Italy at the time took a local tour of their kingdom. They were sick of all the fancy French stuff they always ate and got a real junk food craving. We’ve all been there. Now this was odd because pizza was considered peasant food. But all the same, the Queen super loved it. She called a chef to her palace and was like make me dis. The chef was like “I prolly should make something patriotic” and then created a pizza with red tomatoes, white mozzarella and green basil. You know, I can’t seem to figure out his inspiration for this… The queen was like: EHR. MAH. GERD. <3 And it became her absolute favorite. So much so they named it after her. Margherita. ”Mmm, yes. This will do.” That’s it for our short history of pizza. And now… Now, I do enjoy the classics. I love Margherita pizza like the queen there but we’ve covered that already. I like meat pizzas or meat pizzas with some onions and mushrooms and stuff. And for my love/hate pizza (since some people seem to hate it) I love me some seafood pizza. Garlic shrimp or just mixed seafood. It’s amazing. And that’s it! I’ll just leave with a few questions to end this thread. What kind of pizzas do you like? Thin crust or nah? Do you or will you eat pizza with utensils or is that sacrilege? Also! Pineapple on pizza is vile. Until next time!
This was a delish margarita pizza from a restaurant nearby that I had.? (It’s from one of my instagram stories so ignore the gauge thingy) Anyways, I always go for pepperoni pizza, but am also a fan of mushrooms and bacon. But I can’t stand when they load a ton of cheese on it, partially because I’m slightly lactose intolerant. And, to answer the other questions, thin crust ftw, and if you eat pizza with utensils then what are you actually doing with your life?
Most pizza is greasy and gross. I like pizza with thick crust, no cheese, rly high quality tomato sauce and lotsa veggies
Some pizza in italy is designed to be eaten with utensils though and kind of impossible to eat as slices. Example - neapolitan pizza
My bf and I make our own pizzas almost every Friday and eat leftovers for breakfast the next day lol. I personally make a vegan pizza for myself. I always make it thin crust, though! I use vegan parmesan and sauté a bunch of veggies like peppers, onions, etc. and then I add some cut up fresh jalapeños, and boom! Yummy veggie pizza goodness~
hawaiian pizza with stuffed crust? yes please(hold the ham, lmao). i don't like pepperoni, meat lovers, supreme, that one that has chicken and parmesan on it(ew), or anything else that isn't either straight cheese, or pineapple. i like ordering a side of marinara sauce for when i finish the slice, that way i can dip the stuffed crust. oh so tasty. also, question: my friend dips her cheese pizza in ranch dressing. i don't want to try it because it seems weird. is that actually good?
I personally love the local deep dish selection. One is, let’s call it Classic Deep Dish The other is: Pizza Pot Pie It was featured on the food network and while I was nearby I decided to give it a try. It was delicious ?.
Capricciosa with thick crust, or even better, cheese-stuffed crust. Issa olives, italian sosij, ground beef, mushrooms. sometimes anchovies too but they sorta overpower the pizza when they're on it for me, so I avoid. I also like to add jalapenos to everything. I look online and make sure this isn't just local. It says requires 3 core toppings Capricciosa: Ham, Mushroom, Artichoke never had one with artichoke. Don't think I like the vegetable. I guess the olive was the substitute. and ty for dat, pizza guy. This my favourite pizza, and if I can mix 2, I put a garlicky pepperoni on the side.
^ I can't even think of regular peppers/capsicum without pairing it with beef. And I'd add mushroom to that, and then you have Supreme Pizza
o and Crystal that pizza has some slized sosij on it? I don't think margaritas can have meat on them, or whatever that black stuff is.
Oof my b, I was trying to read the menu next to it cause I forgot what I ordered. But yeah it was actually a mushroom and pepperoni pizza.
i'm good as long as there's no pineapple on it...i'll prolly pick something that has onions, mushrooms and lots of cheese on it (+ hot sauce)
