Hi. I'm really mad. Today is the last day of finals week, but since I didn't have any finals, I've been doing other things like moving into and cleaning my new apartment. So yesterday, I got an e-mail from my teacher saying that I needed to turn in my report that's 10 pages long in again because she misplaced it (keyword "she"). I told her that was fine, but I wouldn't be able to get it to her until today and she automatically thought that I didn't do my assignment, so she started to pester me. "Did you turn in your assignment originally?" And I said "yes.." Now, she's known to misplace assignments and frankly, it gets on everyone's nerves. We turned this assignment in 3-4 weeks ago, so she should have already kind of started grading them. Yet a day before the last day of finals, she contacts me about this. She says "once you get to a computer, please send me another copy." The problem with that is... I don't have a printer at my apartment, so I had to use the printer on campus. I heavily revised my assignment and printed it out before it was due. Since you can't really save things on school computers, I didn't send it back to myself and save the revised copy. I turned in the "un-revised" copy and tried to explain to her that this wasn't the final draft that I had turned in to her. She hasn't responded, but I really don't think it's fair that I get a lower grade on the assignment just because she misplaced it. And she's been known to misplace assignments fairly frequently. My major is so small that we have the same professors every semester. They also teach the graduate program here and are really good connections to getting jobs in the real world once we graduate, so it's best to be on good standings with them. I don't want to compromise the relationship I have with my professor, but this isn't the first time she has done this to me or my fellow classmates.. What would you do if you were in a situation like this ...?
if her first email to you says "she" misplaced it and she give you a hard time there must be someone you can go to and show that and explain your situation further. if not sorry hope it works out
Adri. It is kinda stressful just because I really wanted an A in her class but now it just won't be...
If you still have the email and can get testimonials from other students, you can take this case to the administration of your college
Did you send it to her the first tome thru email? If so, you can check your outbox (sent emails) and get it back from there.....
SBO, you could always contact the department head of the course (English, Sociology, or Business) and let them know of the problem, if needed.
See, I have the unrevised one, but not the revised one saved. So I was forced to turn the unrevised one in cuz that's all I had. I didn't send it to her through e-mail. I had to print it.
The department head is really close to this professor. There are 4 professors in my program.... It's really small.
If the professor misplaces student's work constantly, someone should notify the department I get that you do not want bad feelings, but in my four years of college, I have never had a professor misplace my work. The professor sounds sketchy.
I hate when stuff like that happens. I'm taking typography and its all on the computers and we use a Mac in lab so when I forget to turn in a PDF file of my work and I get home and I don't have the adobe ID I have to send in the ID file (because I didn't make a PDF) from my computer and she automatically marks me down a grade -.- but she sees I did the work she just prefers PDF ...
