im not usually one for remembrance and “r.i.p”s, but with the 15th anniversary of 9/11 tomorrow (or today, depending on your TZ), i feel like the most neglected memorial is the one that’s most needed today. i hope the 2,996 people that lost their lives on 9/11 rest in peace, but more than that, i hope the 4 million muslims in the middle east (and the ~6,000 americans that were sent to die there) that lost theirs as a result do too. just as it’s important to remember those who died in the attacks, it’s equally important to remember that it’s not over for muslim people, especially in america. the amount of racism and hatred the “war on terror” perpetuates is inexcusable, and i hope every muslim and middle eastern person living in fear around the world because of the united states’ hateful and fatal method of “revenge” makes it home safe tonight. i can only further hope that the US will cease and never repeat such a disturbing mass murder, and slowly right itself in terms of the hate against islamic people that has been brainwashed into its citizens. this is genuinely not meant to be an offensive/debate/etc thread; i simply want to acknowledge that amongst the memorials, we can’t forget that it didn’t end in 2001. just a reminder to all muslims/middle eastern people on sept 11 that you deserve to be safe and i'm sorry you have to deal with so much more vitriol and racism than usual around this time. happy eid al-adha. stay safe.
That shit ain't funny. Not even a little bit. Bet you wouldn't feel like making jokes if it had been your wife, mom, child, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, or nephew who died in those towers or in that field in Pennsylvania. Just because 15 years have passed doesn't make it okay to joke about it.
Ya I was about to joke about 9/11 too but then it hit me like a plane to the Tower, stuff like that shold not be joked about period
You should die a slow, painful death with the whole world watching on live TV. Or maybe your family should. That would help you to grow up a little. Bunch of immature scrubs. I feel bad for your momma, homie.
I apologize. I shouldn't have made that joke 9/11 jokes are plane stupid, they always crash and burn.
Posting this only creates an opening for the trolls so i don't think this is the right place to post on sensitive issues. But i appreciate the gesture. RIP all the ppl that died a death they didn't deserved, be it in mass or at an individual level, since the beginning of time
