I have unlocked the secret to the perfect grilled cheese, I swear. Instead of butter/margarine on the outsides of your bread, use a thin layer of mayonnaise. It’s the crunchiest perfect coating for your grilled sandwiches. Only try this if you’re ready to ruin every other grilled cheese sandwich. You’re welcome. I want to know what other “weird” things actually enhance the taste/texture of your foods.
I...Wow maybe I would actually try this for my brother who doesn't mind eating mayo and syrup sandwiches when my sister and I don't wake up early enough to fulfill his initial pang of hunger in the mornings. If my technique gives results such as yours, I may do it for my own. It's too bad I'm too inept in the kitchen to know whether your claim is even possible to begin with
Ooh, I already do that and agree! My gramma always did cakes like this so I never thought it was weird but, when my friend asked how I make my cakes so moist and I told him I always add some sour cream, he thought it was weird af.
On the outside. Mayonnaise is basically eggs and oil, both fry very nicely. I promise! You can’t really taste the “mayo” taste.
Yaass! My dad taught me this. Game changer If you really wanna indulge yourself, a little bit of grated parmesan on the outside too the mayo holds it on perfectly
Gross, no. I am in support of adding tomato to grilled cheese, though. Just a slice makes it so much more flavourful. I also like adding chips to sammiches
Line them inside the bread on not too high heat, so they have a chance to really blend in just just fall/roll out doesn’t take too long then it’s perfect and ready it’s greatness tbh
It's supposed to be butter and coconut oil both. And that's not for flavor, that's to start your body off burning fat first thing in the morning so it keeps burning fat all day. I never tried it, I just know about it from keto diet people.
I actually heard that butter makes it taste creamier, and adds a dash of salt to make it richer. I’ll never experience this because I don’t drink coffee, but thanks for the tip! I know that people following a ketogenic meal plan will add coconut oil to their coffee.
