Every time there is a scav hunt or special event on PIMD, everyone spams campus with trade offers, dv's, etc.. There are a lot of honest players out there, but even more scammers. Anyone think it would be a good idea for a gift that would signify a good or bad trade? If both players hold up their end of the bargain they would gift a good item, if one scams a bad gift would be gifted (strictly pertaining to trades) Kind of similar to a creating a credit score more less, or do you think it should always be a gamble? Thoughts please
But if someone got gifted a bad gift to show a scammer they just wouldn't accept it. Or do u mean those gifts would automatically show up without the need 2 accept or reject?
That is def a good point that I didn't consider with my original post. But there are several factors there. If it's a reg gift u have the ability to decline. If it's a special gift that can't be refused you run the chance of someone purposely trying to give someone a bad rep. Just wanted ideas thrown around, I think it's a good idea but how to make it work is the trick haha
I'd rather there was an ongoing, up-to-date list of scammers/grifters and the like instead that people could post that would be available for the community. Coordinating it however would be tricky as well as bearing proof of a player having actually been scammed and not lying with the intent to have a player blacklisted. But the general thought of some sort of record or accountability is nice. Sometimes public shaming is enough though—the only problem with it here is that it's so easy for players to change their names. I like this discussion though, so I'm curious about other ideas people come up with.
